| DSI Toy Kittens are being recalled. DSI Toys, Inc., of Houston, TX, is voluntarily recalling about 238,000 stuffed toy kittens. These toys contain contaminated water that, if contacted, could cause illness to children. The CPSC and DSI Toys have not had any reports of illness resulting from contacting contaminated water from these toys. This is a voluntary recall for precautionary purposes. The Kitty Kitty Kittens being recalled come in six styles: Buttons, Tiger, Calico, Mittens, Tawny, and Fluffy. Parents and caregivers should take the toy away from children immediately and call DSI Toys to receive a free replacement toy. | Chicco USA Inc. recalls 6,000 Build-A-Ball preschool toys. The Build-A-Ball consists of five multi-colored and various-sized plastic balls that can be taken apart to be stacked or placed inside each other. The CPSC has received a report of a 2-year-old boy who had one of a larger-sized ball half stuck on his face. A nearby adult was reportedly able to pull the toy off his face, and no suffocation occured.The balls are packaged in a box labeled "Chicco", "Build-A-Ball", Cod.66167", and "Made in China". They were sold by Amazon.com, Army & Air Force Exchanges and other toy stores nationwide from January 1999 to April 2001 for about $6.00. If you have one of these toys, please take the toy away from children immediately. You can return the toy to the store where purchased for a refund, or call Chicco USA Inc., toll-free at (866) 242-0643 (8:30am to 5:30 pm EST, M-F). |
