Seven Church Walk Briefing

Mission:

To see the Seven Basilicas of Rome in one day.  Walk through the Holy Doors and walk to each one.  Mission Commander: Father Ronald Buchmiller, Captain, CHC, USN, Deputy Commander: Father Jon Brzek, LCDR, CHC USN.

Plan:

Date: Saturday, 8 April 2000.  Objective: Invade Rome. Tactical Summary: Depart Naples 0600, arrive Rome 0930, after a cappuccino break mid-way to Rome.  Rome rendezvous is Basilica di San Paolo  (St. Paul's outside the walls) and conclude mission at Basilica di San Pietro (St Peter's in the Vatican) NLT (no later than) 1630 capturing approximately eleven miles and spending 15-20 minutes in each Basilica. At the end of the mission 1700, worship service at San Onofrio, the home church of Students from the Pontifical University of North America. Depart Rome NLT 1800 for arrival in Naples 2100.

Preparations Checklist:

Brief Mission at Church, request 35 - 100 volunteers 19 March
Purchase Tickets for three volunteers 20 March
Prepare Rations and surveillance equipment 7 April
Set Alarms for Revelry at 0445 7 April
Depart home for Napoli Rendezvous (NSA Capodichino Chapel) 8 April - 0515
Arrive at Napoli Rendezvous with other missionaries NLT  and check in with Commander 08 April - 0545
Pre-Mission Brief: Completed on bus:  Two - 50 pax personnel carriers, 97 volunteers on this mission (three no-shows).  Expected losses: 1 (meeting parent and staying in Rome).  We will attack two fronts, the seven basilicas or the four major basilicas and rendezvous at St Peter's obelisk at 1630.  Make your mission choice and decide before arrival at first objective.  Group will mass with their respective company commanders (four standing by at Rome rendezvous) and commence. 08 April - 0600
