Quaint and Beautiful

Santa Cruz is one of the fastest growing cities of Bolivia. It combines a small-town ambiance with the dynamism of a booming economy.

The enterprising inhabitants have built an industrial and agricultural empire. A modern manufacturing center, oil, and sugar refineries, and soy, leather, dairy, beverage, and other production facilities dot  the city landscape.

Visitors enjoy its tropical weather, its warm swimming pools, and the warmth of the people´s friendship.  You will want to spend most of your time visiting all the outdoor attractions, the zoo, parks like the Arenal Park where you will admire the local artist Lorgio Vaca´s open-air murals, which display a collage of historical and modern day aspects of the city and its costumes.

Lorenzo."

Santa Cruz is basically shaped ovally and laid out in "anillos", or rings. The city is composed of seven "anillos", and most of the action takes place in the first one. Here you will find commercial stores and enterprises, hotels and most restaurants in the second, residences and some industries in the fourth through the seventh "anillo" and the train station and the zoo.

Most economic activity takes place around Santa Cruz's Main Square, Plaza 24 de Septiembre. If you should take a look around this Main Square, you will spot the Basílica Menor de San Lorenzo, more commonly known as the Cathedral, the Museo de Historia Natural (the Museum of Natural History), and other buildings, all are definitely worth a visit.

You will enjoy visiting Santa Cruz´s downtown

Santa Cruz is probably another synonym for fun and hospitality. Visitors can enjoy different places to eat, drink, and dance. Varied and set for all lifestyles, you may find country-like restaurants where tipical foods and drinks are served. Usually they have live music you can dance with. Surely you will be dancing at one of the most beautiful dances Santa Cruz has, the "taquirari", don´t worry, you will learn fast, people will gladly teach you to dance it.

But, Santa Cruz is not only dancing and singing, it gets serious when it comes to business. You will find a variety of hotels and enterprises where you can work at and close that special deal.

Do you like shopping? Try the area of Las Siete Calles (seven streets) and the Mercado Los Pozos. You will love it!!

Ever expanding, Santa Cruz continues to transform itself, becoming more of a metropolis with each passing day. Thankfully, though, it has not lost its small town charm, which is what makes such an ideal place to visit.
