The Chacaltaya is full of adventure

carpet of the night.

La Paz offers a variety of sighseeings like no other region in the world. For example, going up the Yungas summit (20 Km. From the city) the traveler will find himself surrounded by snowy mountains with elevations above 5000 meters, being himself at about 4800 meters above sea level. Going up north, the landscapes, wildlife, and vegetation  will be changing as he starts to descend. The air becomes warmer and warmer and the wildlife becomes noisy because of the insects and birds of all colors.

Lake Titicaca is found on the platoo, the highest navigable lake in the world. In its shores, two great cultures were born, the aymaras and the incas. Close to the lake, a sample of one of these cultures is found, Tiwanaku.

You will dream of Titicaca´s lake view at dawn...

...and enjoy it at daytime.

Tiwanaku or Tiahuanacu, a milenarian city which has been listed as a 5000 to 200,000 year old mistery to many scientists. There are people that are certain that Tiwanacu was built  by extraterrestrials or giants, and that there are  UFO bases in its surroundings.

There are many other magnific ruins, like Iscanwaya, greater or as great as Machu Picchu in Perú.

La Paz and its surroundings are unique, where visitors may find themselves in lunar like landscapes, surrounded by stone cathedrals, caressed  by some of the purest breezes which contamination has not harmed yet.
