House Yaijinden

"...and then, I'll blame Akuma." -Jaylor Kaiu

It has come to the attention of the webmaster that this info is mostly wrong. I'll correct it soon.

Known among the Lands of Death for millennia as the "Family of Devils" the Yaijinden are respectful, genteel, and well-mannered. Affluent beyond imagination, House Yaijinden traces its roots back to not the Lands of Death, but another world entirely, the Yaijinden came to the Lands a family of merchant princes and diplomatic magi. No other non-aristocratic family ever rose as high n status as the Yaijinden. No other house makes such a spectacle of humility and propriety as does the Yaijinden. And no other house hides its blasphemous secrets as well.

In mortis society, Yaijinden often fill the role of advisors to kings. They are respected for their insight and wisdom, and largely trusted due to their lack of interest  in temporal power. Because of this the Doom and Yaijinden formed an unofficial alliance, whereby the former provided a secure place to do research in exchange for the counsel of the latter.

According to tales whispered in Luna salons and Apocalypse soirees, the alien Yaijinden's money spoiled the family, and the outsiders turned to nigrimancy out of perverse boredom. Surprisingly enough, the family developed quite an aptitude for trafficking with devils, and their power led to greater and greater magical heights. Eventually allowing the family to cross into other dimensions, such as the Lands of Death, SilverLeaf and many more besides.

NICKNAME:  Devils

SECT:      The Yaijinden were recently granted status as a full noble House, by an act of Queen Ianthe von Doom. Other house leaders reacted in horror, that the "Devil Ambassador" Akuma no Yaijinden was now their equal. This act, the ascendancy of Akuma and his line to their new status is what started the civil war.

APPEARANCE:   Yaijinden wizards typically maintain airs of preventability and respectability. Most Yaijinden, hailing as they do from outside the Lands of Death, bear Asiatic features, including fair-to-pale complexions, dark hair and slender statures. Yaijinden tend to dress well but not lavishly, preferring subtle accouterments of affluence to ostentatious displays.

HOUSE POWERS:    Arcane magic; the Yaijinden are wizards that wield a type of magic very different from the rest of the Dread Kingdom.

Stereotypes

House Apocalypse   They'll stab you in the back, but that's because they know how the game is played.
House Dagger    They'll will not stab you in the back, but that's not because they do not know how the game is played, but rather because they are playing a game of their own making.
House Dracos  How like a precocious child, with spectacles perched so seriously on his nose and a heavy book in his lap! Ah, but that little darling is a fire-breathing, two-hundred pound mass of muscle... publish or perish, indeed.
House Doom   Their realm is the temporal, fleeting world of political power. Admirable allies, they have achieved near mastery of what they set their sights on.
House Luna   Effete and indolent, the Luna nonetheless wield appreciable power.
House Lycanthro  So much noise, so little signal.
House Oni  Who?

Crystal Senshi

Inconsequential and poorly dressed; they are mere mosquitoes not soldiers.
Mirth House  Large, foolish, and predictable.
Tenshi Force  Smaller, more foolish and less predictable.

The Blackmoon

 An arcane, if outdated, evil.
