The line of House Luna are
called many things- "degenerates," "lurkers," "sluts," and "hedonists"
being but a few. But any such lumpen categorization does the house a
disservice. Depending on the individual and her mood, Luna are
alternately elegant and flamboyant, brilliant and ludicrous visionary
and dissipated. Perhaps the only truism that can be applied to the Luna
is it's members aesthetic zeal. Whatever a Luna does, she does with
passion. Whatever a Luna is, she is with passion.
To the Luna, life is to be
savored. Many are artists, musicians and poets; many more have spent
frustrated lives producing laughable attempts at art, music or poetry.
Luna tout themselves as cultivators of all that is best about society.
Occasionally, a gifted or inspired creator from another line is inducted
into the house, sometimes posthumously. In this manner, House Luna lays
claim to some the greatest artists, poets, and musicians the Lands of
Death have ever known; of course, if one thing can be said about the
Luna, it is that no two of them agree on precisely what "gifted" or
"inspired" means.
Off all houses, Luna are
the dreadites most connected to the human world. While other dreadites
view humans as pawns or simple brute labor, Luna glide gracefully and
effortlessly through the society of the conquered, sampling the delights
of each new world as a gourmand savors rare delicacies. Luna are the
dreadites most likely to fall in love with humans, and they surround
themselves with the best, most elegant and most luxurious things- and
people- that the world has to offer. It is, thus, acutely tragic when a
Luna succumbs to ennui and discards aesthetic pursuits in favor of
pointless hedonism. Such dreadites become decadent sybarites, concerned
only with indulging personal whims and vices.
Luna are committed to the
Rebellion and share the Apocalypse's view of rulership by the worthy,
though not for them the tedium of actually running things- that's
what functionaries are for, after all. Luna know that their place is to
captivate and inspire- through their witty speech, graceful deeds and
simple, scintillating existence.
NICKNAME: Lurkers or
Sluts (both derogatory)
SECT: Most Luna
have sided with the rebellion, largely out of personal disgust with
Queen Ianthe and the promotion of House Yaijinden. Some stay committed
to the Dread Kingdom, as only that august alliance promotes stability
and allows the Luna to live a relaxed artists life.
APPEARANCE: As
a rule, the Luna are creatures of surpassing beauty. Of all houses, Luna
are the dreadites most attuned to fashion trends; centuries-old Lurkers
are often more stylish than some 30-year-olds. If it's in, chances are
that as least one Luna will adopt it.
HOUSE POWERS:
Seduction, mind control, enchanting voices, manipulation.

Stereotypes |
| House Apocalypse |
Their conceited posturing is
dreadfully provocative, and provocatively dreadful, but they take
it all so seriously. |
| House Dagger |
There is
beauty in what they do, make no mistake, but it is a beauty best
observed from a distance. |
| House Dracos |
The past has
much to offer, but it is a death of the soul to ignore the
present. |
| House Doom |
Royal blood
does not nobility make and that is something the Doom must
understand. Forgive me if I do not stand at attention until they
do. |
| House Lycanthro |
As charmingly
untamed as a tiger; as worthy of consideration as a housecat. |
| House Oni |
Odious
beasts! And to think that they are allowed in the halls of
culture! Oh, how gauche.... |
| House Yaijinden |
These
basilisks offer poisoned gifts with honeyed promises. Be ever wary
of these clever magi. |
|
Crystal Senshi |
If not for
these fools, then through the Kingdom humanity and dreadites might
harmoniously coexist, each benefiting from the other's presence. |
| Mirth House |
Really. Who
let them in? |
| Tenshi Force |
Truly they
must abhor themselves, for why else would anyone take their path?
Be wary of these ones, for they seek more slaves for their master. |
|
The Blackmoon |
They dress
splendidly and are charmingly well mannered. Why, then, do they
frighten me so? |
