The members of this house
are dedicated and extremely well-organized. Others, however, think of
them as arcane and untrustworthy. Dracos are aggressive, highly
intellectual and manipulative, and respect only those who struggle and
persevere despite all odds. The Dracos believe they must use the
other houses in order to prosper. "Be friendly with them, let them think
that we are one with them, but never forget that we serve the our blood
first and foremost," the Dracos elders whisper to their progeny. They do
so because this House, unlike so many of the others, still regard the
unity and stability among the houses as new. The Dracos are extremely
long-lived, far more than even the other mortis, and adapt slowly to
social change.
The Dracos are an odd lot
indeed. They claim to have once been dragons who voluntarily gave up
their "true forms" for the learning and knowledge of the humanoid form.
They have never named a founder, aside from a mythical, iconic 'Dragon'
who led this movement into their current form. Most other houses
discount this claim, however. Although, none can quite disprove it
either.
Their link to their
draconic blood apparently runs deep, and they are known to use it in
special ways to gain extraordinary powers. Knowledge of these practices
has been passed down from generation to generation, and it is now viewed
by the Dracos as natural and commonplace, not magic.
The leaders of this clan
are based in the Lands of Death, though they have Archives on every
world they control. The Great Archive in EvilHeart is rivaled in scale
and scope only by the Arcanum Draconis in their native dimension. From
this locus, they maintain a tightly ordered, highly hierarchical group,
one that allows no outsider to view their inner workings.
Dracos typically have
immense love for and loyalty to their house, and the younger members of
House Dracos are expected to obey their elders without question, This is
not as true in practice as it once was, however. Though not necessarily
blindly obedient, the Dracos as a whole are old fashioned and slow to
change, thus rebellion and infighting are next to unheard of.
NICKNAME: Dragons
SECT: The Dracos were
uncharacteristically quick to join the fledgling Dread Kingdom when it
was forming, and they quickly made themselves invaluable there. In fact,
the Dracos are one of the linchpins of the sect. They had many enemies,
and they required allies, and with the valuable arcane and physical
power they offer, the Dracos find the Dread Kingdom glad to provide the
support they require. With the Kingdom's protection the Dragons are free
to pursue the mastery of lore the so avidly covet.
APPEARANCE: No
two Dracos look precisely alike, but all are in some way draconic.
Majestic wings, fangs, claws, metallic colored skin, fine scales, are
just a few possible deformities possessed by Dragons. Although the
dragon blooded regard these features as sources of beauty and a normal
part of existence.
HOUSE POWERS:
Dragon blood, elemental magic, knowledge.

Stereotypes |
| House Apocalypse |
Strong and disciplined, once
we thought their support vital, that they proved to be so
untrustworthy shows just how much history repeats itself. |
| House Dagger |
Even the most
sagacious scholar-warrior may fall with a knife in his back;
remember that when dealing with this House. And remember that you,
like the Dagger, are both sage and soldier. |
| House Doom |
There is
strength in a tower; no matter how decrepit some of the
bricks may be. |
| House Luna |
Idle
hedonists. They do not understand that their rebellion will end
their way of life forever. |
| House Lycanthro |
Noble and
wise. In their own way. |
| House Oni |
These
creatures make useful servants, but they are too noxious to
tolerate for long. |
| House Yaijinden |
Give the
Devil his due for their tenacity in spite of such hatred. Perhaps
they are a sign of things to come for us all. |
|
Crystal Senshi |
Do not ask,
do not think- kill them without delay or mercy. |
| Mirth House |
Savages
worthy of nothing, not the name of House Mirthis, not even a swift
death. |
| Tenshi Force |
These
creatures are undoubtedly mad. The Golden Spirit's gibbering is of
no consequence to us. |
|
The Blackmoon |
True, we need
allies, but I hold misgivings about their kind of help. |
