PLANTS

The sanctuary is endowed with very rich and diverse wildlife due to the mosaic pattern of vegetation.

Parambikulam is the receptacle of 1432 species of plants falling under 753 genera and 140 families. It includes 67 species of Orchids both terrestrial and epiphytic. With 80 species, grass family is the second largest after Fabaceae.
