This is a small collection of the still life images I have created recently.

I began my exploration of 3D graphics shortly after I graduated from high school using my father's Commodore Amiga 2000. This machine was equipped with a Motorola 68000 microprocessor and 512k of memory. As a matter of comparison, let me just state that an object I can now create and render in less than a minute required about 5 minutes to create and about 40 minutes to render on that old machine.

After growing frustrated with the Amiga 2000, I began working with my father's Amiga 3000 which -- at the time -- seemed fast!. This was OK for a couple of years, as I hadn't really been exposed to faster machines and I didn't know what I was missing.

Then I saw some 3D images that a friend of mine had downloaded off of CompuServe (this was before the internet exploded onto the scene) and I was amazed at the color depth and clarity of the images. 256 colors? 640x480 resolution? I was entranced! I didn't know that IBM compatible machines were capable of this stuff.

Shortly thereafter Commodore declared bankruptcy and I knew I would be buying a PC.

Since my beginnings in 3D graphics, I have relied exclusively on Imagine from Impulse for my 3D rendering. This company was responsible for the first commercial raytracer for the Amiga (called Silver, then TurboSilver and finally Imagine) and since that time has continually improved their product. Almost all of my modeling is done in Imagine as well, however -- from time to time -- I use an organic modeler called Organica (also from Impulse).

With the exception of the image of the moon, all image maps (labels and such) were hand made by me in Adobe Photoshop.

I hope you enjoy what I have created.
