These are things you should do to keep your PC running smooth:

Cleaning Your Temporary Internet Files in Internet Explorer (YES..you should do this at least  once a week!!)

If your internet is acting funky (Pop Ups, Goofy toolbars, ads all over the place etc..YOU HAVE
SPYWARE..Download this and run it:  Microsoft Spyware Cleaner
Defragment your Hard Drive (about once a month)

Take a vacuum and suck all the dust bunnies and animal hair out of all the openings on your PC as often as you can. (this will help keep your PC from overheating and dying on you)

Places to get basic information about computers...

How to buy a PC

Best Place to go Search for something on the internet (in my humble opinion)
Google
TERMS YOU MUST KNOW!!!

Computer
=THE BOX with the button that lights up.

Monitor=
(THE THING WITH GLASS SCREEN-when you are told to shut your computer off--THE BUTTON ON THE MONITOR DOES NOT IN ANY WAY  DO THIS!!!!)

Printer=The thing you put paper in
Internet=
A place you must connect to with a modem/DSL/CABLE etc..connection.  The internet DOES NOT LIVE ON YOUR PC.

Everything you use that is not on the internet (Works, Word, Solitaire etc..)
has
no impact on the internet and vice versa.  Works, Word, Solitaire etc..LIVE on your Computer only THEY DO NOT CARE IF YOU USE THE INTERNET OR NOT)

What you do on your work computer has nothing to do with your home computer EX( Just because you can get to your job through the internet at home, that does not mean that if I upgrade your work PC, that your home computer will no longer work!!!)
