Page 37 Mistakes to avoid
The number one mistake a leader can make is to put their work before prayer & worship. A leader's relationship with God must have priority over any other relationship or task. A wise leader says "I am too busy not to pray".
The Bible says "Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labour in vain" (Psalm 127:1) and "'Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit', says the Lord Almighty" (Zechariah 4:6).
The following are a further ten mistakes that leaders often make:
1. The Top-down attitude 2. Putting Paperwork before Peoplework 3. The Absence of Affirmation 4. No Room for Mavericks & new ideas 5. Dictatorship in Decision-making 6. Dirty Delegation (eg. not clear cut, not defined, and not according to ability) 7. Communication Chaos 8. Missing the Clues of Corporate Culture 9. Success without Successors 10. Failure to Focus on the Future.
