Day 74 - Friday Nov 15th - Sydney - Raining/Cold (well cold for here anyway..)
(IJH) Not much work today !! Doing minibus pickups from 6 till 10 am - then met up with Anka, Dave, and Jess to go to Bondi Beach (such a hard life) to see some of the modern art sculptures that they had on show there... if it's any consolation it did end up tipping it down on us while we were there - at least it meant the beach was pretty deserted.
As it was the end of the week it seemed only right that we should get a bit drunk to celebrate.. meeting up with Finchy, Darren and Sarah at the Retro Hotel (bar) in Sydney CBD for a cheeky drink or two - especially as it was happy hour from 4 till 7 ...this then lead to more drinks in the Nags Head in the suburb of Glebe (where a 60 year old bald man professed his love for Anka who was desperately trying to escape to the other side of the bar...lucky her..) and then back to Balmain (home of Darren/Sarah/Finchy) for a absolutely gorgeous chicken Kebab (well I had had a few drinks) and finish the evening with a G n  T at Simons......arrived back at the hostel as the early hour of 3am...........
Day 75 - Sat Nov 16th - Sydney - Hot/Sunny
(IJH) Well I think most people out last night spent today feeling hungover although by some fluke or divine intervention I felt fine ! We went out to sample an 'English' Breakfast at a store with a cafe inside near our hostel - Dave and I opting for the 'whale breakfast' ...still not as good as the Tavern back in Allerton though. Not a lot going on today - ventured to the Botanical Gardens down near the harbour and sat reading the paper enjoying the hot weather (with the tops of the Opera house and Harbour Bridge peeking over the trees in the background).
Ate in a Restaurant called Waggamamas down at Darling Harbour (apparently there's wuite a few of them back in London Village...) very good Japaneese food and and absolute bargain compared to prices back home...early night as I was up for my new driving job at 0530 on Sunday.
Day 76 - Sun Nov 17th - Sydney - Hot/Sunny
(IJH) An early start was made even earlier by Amber in our room throwing up at 4am - after which I didn't get back to sleep !  First full day on the job and picked up 17  backpackers from the bus/train terminus (some are pre-booked but the majority are random touting)  which I was fairly pleased about - surprised anyone would let me loose with a minibus in central Sydney but there you go...
When round to Simon's, Darren's and Sarah's for a bit in the afternoon for a bit of barbie (no there weren't any shrimps being thrown on...) then returned to the hostel to find Dave, Jess, Sian eating cheese, crisps, and drinking wine given by Amber for disturbing us all last night....very amusing...
Day 77 - Mon Nov 18th - Sydney - Hot/Sunny
(IJH) Feel even more tired this morning - another shift of 6-2pm picking people up (16 today) - the sun here is bloody hot, it must be about 35 deg C. Have quit my telesales job as I just hated it - Dave is out looking for work again.
Day 78 - Tues Nov 19th - Sydney - Hot/Sunny
(IJH) Dave has now got some promotions work which is evening shifts at the moment - he's doing this with another girl in our dorm (Kay) who's also over here working for a bit. - I have had a job interview with a charity organisation with a view to doing fund raising for them - door to door stuff again but at least its for a good cause.... all commision based again though - oh well ..
Have started looking for houses/flats but everywhere seems to be for min 6 month lease which quite frankly is a pain in the arse.
Day 79 - Wed Nov 20th - Sydney -  Overcast/Raining
(IJH) Typical really - Charity gets back to me offerign me work for them (which I was quite interested in doing) after I'd had a chat to the guys at the hostel about doing 5 days a week for them - bugger - oh well shouldn't complain !! Going to stay doing the  meet and greet with the hostel for the moment - also will be ferrying people across to Bondi Beach every day as well which doesn't sound too bad.  Went over to Darren, Sarah's and Finches this evening and had another game of Scrabble with these guys which predictably enough ended up with Darren winning again ....
Dave and I also looked at some places today but they are either sharing with lots of people in the centre (like 7 in 3 bed flat) or out of the city a bit...time to keep looking but need to find something before Chrimbo.........
Day 80 - Thurs Nov 21st - Sydney -  Overcast/Cold
(IJH) Anka's birthday so - HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANKE ! Anyway another early shift today followed by a civilised lunch out at the Blackbird Cafe on Darling Habour...I have been to the cinema twice in the last week - having seen The Guru (not bad/funny - video movie) and today The Ring which is a remake of a Japaneese film I think - anyway 'twas very good and made me jump a bit.  Coming down with a cold at the moment which is a pain - Dave is working odd hours doing the promotions work - mainly evenings at the moment - it's possible he may do some driving for the hostel as well !! They really don'y know what they have let themselves in for !!
Met Gruber and his girlfriend Helen in WoK for a drink which was strange - nice to put a name to a face as I'd not met them before but Sniper has previously on a piss-up in Oadby ...
