GERANIUM, JOLLY BEE
                        (Cranesbill)

The Perennial Plant of the year 2008 is 'Geranium, Rozanne'.  Unfortunately it is not really hardy for our area (Zone 3-4). The good news is that 'Jolly Bee' is much better suited and looks very much like 'Rozanne'.

It features the same large, violet-blue flowers with purple veins and small white centers and blooms non-stop from June - Sept.
It may be used as a ground cover, as a border-front specimen, as a mass planting or in a patio container.
It thrives in full sun to partial shade in moist and well-drained soil. It boasts exceptional heat tolerance and drought tolerance.
To maintain peak appearance, gardeners should shear back old foliage to 3 inches in August to promote now growth. Side branches may be removed to control spread.

Plant Combinations:
Jolly Bee is a nice filler between Daylilies and Phlox or simply can be allowed to weave its way through a planting of shrubs. It also looks beautiful in front of bushy roses.
