        Hammerlock: The H.o.S. Interview

Uncle Dan:
There are a lot of bands Hammerlock always gets compared to or lumped in with. Let's do some word association with a handful of those outfits:

a) Raging Slab

Liza Kenney: I had heard of them since the 80's and have never had the pleasure of seeing them live. Hopefully, someday I will.

Travis Kenney: Heard one song for a brief period--sounded okay. I have a lot of respect for them cause they've been doing it for a long time.

b) Nashville Pussy

L: Started hearing about them in our reviews for American Asshole--people were comparing us, though I'd never heard of the band before. I was curious to see what they sounded like, so we went to see them. I didn't think we sounded alike, but I could see how reviewers thought that. I thought they put on a good show and really thought the bass player was cool. Everyone in the band seemed like nice people.

c) Hellstomper

L: My favorite band to be compared to.

T: They rule! One of my favorite bands. I started  jumping up and down on the bed, the first time I heard them. I have everything they have ever released.

UD:
To be thorough, we all know you love "cold Coors in a can." What's your preference: regular or the Silver Bullet?

L: Silver bullet.

T: Silver bullet.

Mikey Kingshill: Red, white, and blue bullet, bud.

UD:
Have you heard or done shows with any cool bands recently people might not know about but should?

L: Both the Jack Saints and Nagg from San Francisco, as well as Fracas from Alameda, California.

T: Cheapskate, and the Resistileros. Also, all the C.o.S. bands (www.confederacyofscum.com).

M: Well, of course the C.o.S. show with Antiseen, Rancid Vat, Limecell, the Jabbers, and a lot more. We also played with one of the city's AC/DC cover bands,  AC/DShee--they rock.

UD:
In closing, I'd like to thank you folks again for granting this interview. There aren't enough words for how much I love and believe in the music of Hammerlock. Your kindness and generosity have made this all that much more special an experience for me, personally. Do you have any parting words for the Hammerlock faithful?

L: Thank you, Dan, for your interest and time. I'd like to give a big shout out to all of Hammerlock's  faithful fans, and everyone who comes to see us live--thank you all! xoxo Liza

T: Keep on rockin'! Thanks to Dan and all our paying fans.

M: I just wanna say thanks to Travis and Liza for including me in this great band. Thanks to all our friends and fans for coming to our shows.
