       Hammerlock: The H.o.S. Interview

Uncle Dan:
The name Hammerlock is derived from your staunch support of gun rights. Have you seen the video the NRA put out about British citizens being stripped of their firearms and having them destroyed by the government? If so, what are your thoughts on that footage? What are your feelings on the current climate surrounding our right to bear arms here in the U.S.?

Travis Kenney: I have not seen that particular video but I do know this: violent crime has skyrocketed in England since law abiding citizens were stripped of their guns--proof that gun control does not work. I personally think the NRA supports too many restrictive gun laws. I prefer the GOA (Gun Owners of America). I oppose all gun laws, not just certain ones. The laws pertaining to assault, murder, and armed robbery are enough. There is no reason for laws against inanimate objects like guns--enforce the laws regarding people and that's enough.

UD:
What are your individual preferences in terms of firearms for self-defense?

Liza Kenney: Winchester defender pump action 12 gauge--seven shots.

T: Smith & Wesson .357 magnum--small, comfortable, and simple.

Mikey Kingshill: 12 gauge.

UD:
Acting responsibly when handling firearms is absolutely crucial. Any advise for novice shootists?

L: When in doubt, take 'em out.

T: Never point your gun at anything you don't intend to shoot.

M: Well, I don't do much shooting outside of East Oakland--keep it pointed at the billboards or things you want to kill.

UD:
Before Hammerlock, what were each of you doing musically?

L: Listening to AM radio.

T: Playing with a bunch of drug addicts that wasted my time. Thank God, Liza took me out of that.

M: I was playing in a punk band with some friends called the Night Terrors and working on a Motorhead cover band.

UD:
Travis and Liza, you've been married for quite awhile. How did you meet? Does playing together in Hammerlock put extra strain on your marriage or does it strengthen your union?

L: We met on my stairs--Travis wanted to rent a room at my house. He didn't move in cause I said "no," but for the next two years, he'd drive by my window at 2am after the bar let out and scream "Liza, I LOVE YOU!" I'd wake up, hear him, and fall back asleep. Playing together in Hammerlock doesn't put a strain on anything--it is what we do.

T: Our marriage was built in Heaven and I love my adoring wife. I can't get enough of her and our union has and will always be strong. We both just like playing and writing music together--I don't think we'd like it any other way.
