DIES IN MERCER COUNTY
James M. Hourigan, age 83 years, formerly a resident of this county, died at his home in Mercer County, about 3 miles from Harrodsburg, Sunday after a short illness of pneumonia.  He had been in bad  health for several months, and when strickened with pneumonia his weakened condition was unable to withstand the ravages of the disease.  He was ill for only a few days.  The funeral services were held at Haysville Church Tuesday   morning at 11 o'clock and were conducted by Rev. R.L. Purdom.  The interment followed in the cemetery there.  Mr. Hourigan was for many years a well known farmer of this County.  Some 8 or 10 years ago, following his marriage to Miss Mary Potts, of Boyle Co., he moved to Mercer and had since resided there.  Mr. Hourigan was a successful farmer and a splendid citizen, and news of his death was received with much sorrow by his friends throughout the county.  He is  survived by his 3rd wife and 7 children by former marriages, 3 sons and 4 daughters and also by one sister, Mrs. Victoria Pipes, and one brother, A(pollis) Hourigan.  The family have the sympathy of many friends in their sorrow.

Mr. James Hourigan, aged about 70 years, died at his home on the Perryville pike about three miles from Harrodsburg, last Sunday evening. He had a host of friends and was held in high esteem. The funeral took place Wednesday and the burial was in Haysville cemetery, in Marion county, he having formerly lived in that community.

He died from lobar pneumonia; was ill from January 24th, 1911 to January 25, 1911 at 10 pm.  Physician was M. H. Sutherland of Harrodsburg, Kentucky.  He was buried at Hayesville Cemetery on January 27, 1914.  The undertaker was Duell & Bruner of Harrodsburg, KY.
