My Journey Into Music
Although I have loved the songs of Madonna, George Michael, Michael Jackson, etc. since childhood, and most recently have developed an infatuation with bands like Linkin Park, Incubus, Creed etc., I have always been more into scores than music.
I have been more into how sounds and sound effects create various moods, reflect atmospheres and time periods or convey an alternate reality by giving a particular feel and realism to action; for instance, how James Horner split and sank a ship in his Death of Titanic score leaves me moved to the core, or how Mark Mancina's fast-paced score reflects high-speed action throughout Speed gives me an adrenaline rush.
However, gradually, I have come to appreciate comtemporary forms of music. I do not have a special preference; whether it is alternative, rock or pop, as long as the songs (the music, the rhythm, the subject matter) appeal to my senses and relate to my outlook on life, I can identify with them and appreciate them.
