Jessie Wallace wins best soap actress at th 'TV Quick' awards 2003.

Jessie Wallace and Shane Richie have notched up a double               success for Eastenders at the 'TV Quick Awards'.
Wallace was voted best soap actress for her role as fiery barmaid      'Kat Slater', and Richie walked away with the best newcomer award     for playing lovelorn landlord 'Alfie Moon'.
Viewers have been hooked by the couple's will-they-won't-they           romance which is rumoured to result in a wedding next year.

Eastenders also scooped the coveted 'Best Soap' award for the         third year running.

Jessie won Sexiest Femal at the British Soap Awards 2003! In her speech, a surprised Jessie said, "I didn't expect this at all. Thank you to Make Up, Costume, Lighting and my Mum and Dad." She was delighted to be kissed by Duncan from Blue who presented her award. He said, "It's great. She deserves it." Later she said, "I'm really flattered and so pleased. Kat's a colourful character. The costumes and make-up make her stand out. A big thank you to the viewers too!" Dale Winton said, "Jessie is one hot lady. She really knows how to work it!"

EASTENDER Jessie Wallace has been BANNED from boozing and      nightclubbing, it emerged last night.
Jessie, 31 � Kat Slater in the soap � was told to behave or face       the sack by BBC bosses. The Sun yesterday revealed her                  �100,000-a-year job was in the balance after she was charged with    drink-driving. And an EastEnders insider said last night: �Everyone is so disappointed with Jessie. It�s the last straw.
�She is a favourite but she can�t keep getting headlines for the            wrong reasons � no one is bigger than the show.
�The bosses told her point-blank to stop boozing, stop the late            nights on the town. �They said they�ll be furious if she�s seen coming out of any clubs. Jessie agreed to keep her head down because         she�s desperate to keep her job.� The actress wept as she appeared before JPs in Chelmsford, Essex, on Thursday. The court heard she   was one-and-a-half times over the drink-drive limit when police            stopped her for speeding in her �32,000 Mercedes SLK. Jessie          pleaded not guilty and the case was adjourned for two weeks. After    a day of meetings yesterday, EastEnders chiefs decided she will not   be sacked even if she is found guilty. A show insider said: �Drink-      driving is a terrible offence, but Jessie will not be sacked, whatever     happens.� Raven-haired Jessie only returned to work two weeks ago after a two-month suspension for her behaviour off-set.
She is due to be seen in Albert Square again in May.
And if she is axed over any further misbehaviour, producers will face a major headache as they have already pencilled her in for major       storylines.
