Little Haven's Children's Hospice

Little Haven Provides:
Short term respite care for children and their families.

An environment which inspires trust and confidence for children and their families.

The opportunity for parents to devote more time to siblings and other family members.

Support to the family as their child dies, whether at Little Haven, at home, or in hospital.

Pre and post bereavement support.

Note: Its a really good cause and we're glad Jessie supports it. We thought her fans might like to know about it so the Jessie World and Everything Jessie 'Site Ring' have decided to help the cause.

Support:
This unique and valuable facility relies upon the generosity of public support, without which we cannot offer the care and dedication these children deserve.

To provide its full range of services, the hospice requires in excess of �1.4m per annum, a small proportion of this comes from a Health Authority grant, the remainder from charitable gifts and donations from people who wish to support the hospice.

The charity has a number of hospice shops which generate regular income, as well as providing a service to the local community through the provision of good quality, second-hand donated items. In addition, they provide a listening ear to those in need, especially the bereaved, when they are donating the belongings of a loved one they have just lost.

As a Christian organisation, prayer support is also highly valued and we are encouraged by many people who pray for our work.

Volunteers:
The hospice depends on many volunteers who give their time freely to assist in almost all aspects of the hospice�s work: administration and fund-raising; domestic; reception; bereavement; gardening and maintenance; care - the list is endless.

How You Can Help:
Thank you for choosing to help Little Haven continue to support families through our range of care services. To date the hospice has received referrals of over 270 families from across Essex and Outer London, this wouldn�t have been possible without generous gifts and donations from our supporters.

�13 could buy a specialist toy for training eye/hand co-ordination.

�25, �Emotions� wooden masks to enable siblings to express emotions � happy, miserable, sad, angry.

�40 Tactile hands � two levels of play relying upon visual skills and observation, or blindfolded, using tactile perception.

�92 covers the cost of a Registered Sick Children�s Nurse for one day

�1,675 covers the cost of a whole family's stay for four days.
