With the Angels watching, every sin brings the Earth closer to destruction!
For five hundred million years, the Angels have been living on the Planet Eden. They have been waiting and watching the blue-green world of Earth from the beginning, documenting virtues and vices of the Earthians...
Earthian is the story of a pair of angelic investigators, Kagetsuya and Chihaya, sent to Earth by the Arc Angel Michael. One to investigate the positive side of the Earthians, the othjer to investigate the negative. The fate of all humanity rests in their hands.

It sounds much more interesting here than it really is. If the stories had followed this premise instead of focusing on Chihaya's black-wing paranoia I would have enjoyed this series.  All in all, it's CLAMP, so don't be suprised to find the Angels  in bed together. (Yes, they are lovers... and despite all appearances, Chihaya is male.) In hopes of salvaging the story line I have tried the manga also.              [Books]

Bolt Crank is a mercenary with a very special power. He can eat weapons and reconstitute them through his hands. Given his line of work,  this ability comes in very useful

I haven't finished either series, but generally, each episode can be viewed as a story onto itself, even though there is a vauge under-lying plot line. I love this anime, although I'm not sure of the specifics; the music is good, but not BeBop quality, each episode is surreal and sometimes amazingly confusing, and Bolt Crank has a strange name and totally unbelievable power. Still, he's one of those wonderful anti-heroes...
El Hazard/the Wanderers      Fantasy/Adventure                                  Pioneer (VHS)

  incomplete                                            26 episodes

One quiet atumn day, the Shinonome High School students are busy preparing for their school festival. Mr. Fujisawa a rock climbing fanatic is inspecting the school grounds; the business savvy Nanami is selling box lunches; Jinnai the president of the student council is caught up in an unscrupulous scandal; and finally Makoto is completely immersed in inventing a device about which even he hasn't got a clue...  The machine sends them into another world. What will Makoto, Jinnai, Mr. Fujisawa and Nanami destinies be in this magnificent world?

There is more to the El Hazard series, but I am still having trouble completing this first season. (I am missing tapes 3 and 6.) BUT I really do enjoy this series. Jinnai is great as the cackling villian, who is also Nanami's brother.  Makoto is the average anime school boy hero. Fujisawa is my favorite character. Nanami is practical. What's not to like? Not above average for it's genre, but worth a watch.      [Cels]
The Elvin Bride                           Fantasy/Hentai                                   Soft Cel (VHS)

Mixed marriages are a tricky thing, so when Kenj, a human, and Milfa, an elf get married, the course of true love does not run smoothly... especially when it turns out that there's a certain difference in plumbing that makes it almost impossible for them to consummate their marriage! Thus, bold Kenji sets forth on a quest, seeking the ultimate marital aid, one which can only be found in the land of the man-hungry harpies. Can our heroic handsome hubby find the legendary liniment he seeks without being waylaid by a lusty pack of female harpies who want to flock around?
Contains: Adult Situations, Sex and Nudity. Mature Audiences Only!

Kawaii Hentai? You got it! There is a lot of sex and nudity, but not much is actually shown. And it's got a plot... sorta. To best sum it up: This is the type of Hentai you show your girlfriend.  Fun, but not taxing. I hear there's The Elven Bride Part II out there as well!

( And  if the she-elves are so small, what exactly does that say about the he-elves?!  O_o; )
(the vision of) Escaflowne               Fantasy/Adventure               Anime Village.com (VHS)

complete                             TV 26 episodes

Into the light and onto a world of sorcery and adventure...
Hitomi Kanzaki is your typical high school girl: She believes in tarot cards and dowsing, runs on the track team and has a crush on an upperclassman. But a series of mysterious visions and a coloumn of light thrusts Hitomi onto Gaea - A world where knights wage war with mechanized armor and dragons with power gems breath fire. Hitomi and a young swordsman named Van begin a perilous journey with Escaflowne, the legendary god of protection.

This is one of the definitive Anime Classics. (How can I tell? I can't afford the cels!) It has everything from wings to mechas,  and heroes and dragons, bishonen, cat-girls and  all the twists and turns of the best anime. Unfortunately, it's also something you can't talk much about without labeling everything as "Spoiler". My favorite physchotic villian is from this show, that's Dilandau. And my favorite cat girl Merle. The major villian will surprise you, and it has one of those "typical" Japanese endings.  Originally this series was only released in Japanese with subtitles. I will not watch the American TV version, because you know it's been butchered to fit "standards".      [Music] [Models] [Misc]

Escaflowne the Movie              Fantasy/Adventure                       Fansubbed  (VCD)

The movie is basically a condensed version of the television series with new art and music. The characters no longer have the reknowned "Escaflowne Nose".  I liked it.  But so much felt missing, just from the lack of detail given in 26 episodes.
