Description: Once upon a time in New York City in 1941...at this club open to all comers to play, night after night, at a club named "Minston's Play House" in Harlem, they play jazz sessions competing with each other. Young jazz men with a new sense are gathering. At last they created a new genreitself. They are sick and tired of the conventional fixed jazz style. They are eager to play jazz more freely as they wish then... in 2071 in the universe... The bounty hunters, who are gathering in the spaceship "BEBOP", will play freely without fear of risky things. They must create new dreams and films by breaking traditional styles. The work, which becomes a new genre itself, will be called... COWBOY BEBOP.
(I love this "description".)

I'm going to paraphrase the Ralph Jenkins Review:
"Director Watanabe Shin'ichiro, screenwriter Nobumoto Keiko, and composer Kanno Yoko re-teamed to create one of the most entertaining and impressive anime TV series ever. The quality of the animation rivals most OVAs and feature films.  BeBop is largely episodic in nature, although there is a central plot running throughout the series . Amazingly, nothing ever stretches disbelief to the point of snapping; BeBop's world is expertly conceived and realized, everything that happens seems all-too-plausible. This is anime at it's finest."

Bounty Hunter Spike Speigel, his partner, Jet Black, Faye Valentine and Edward and Ein. Great music, great art, great story. I highly recommend
all of the music CDs. And hopefully the movie will make it out of Japan soon.

CARDCAPTORS            ~Clamp~                       Pioneer (VHS)

incomplete                       Vol. 1 & 2

Sakura accidentally releases the mischievous spirits of the Clow Book and now they are running wild. Only the legendary CardCaptors have the ability to capture these spirits, but who would have thought that the easily frightened Sakura, could be one of those? With help from Kero, the gaurdian spirit of the cards, and her serious-minded classmate, Li, Sakura strives to bring peace by capturing the dangerous spirits of the Clow.

What can I say, it's Clamp, and a guilty pleasure. Luckily I've watched most of the first two seasons on television. (Meaning: I'll pick up a tape here and there like I do Ranma 1/2 and Pokemon.) [Books] [Misc]

CHINESE GHOST STORY                  Fantasy                                                       VIZ  (VHS)

The tale of the romance between a young innocent man and a ghost trapped in a dark situation. The attempt to fight and survive as a good priest and evil spirits seek to seperate and destroy them.

I wanted to like this movie, but the badly combined 3-D cg animation and the 2-D were just too distracting. It's a Kid-Flick.
