year Machine Design Diploma)
Academic Year
2002/2003
1- Contents:
This graduate course covers
the topics concerning the Design Process, Computer Aided Design (CAD) Process.
Implementation of the CAD process for the design of mechanical elements and
systems. Using of Visual BASIC as an Object Oriented Language for the design of
Machine Elements. AutoCAD will also be used as a CAD tool for drawing of the
designed machine elements. Attendance, written exams as well as oral exam are
taken into consideration for the course grading.

Design a CAD program for any machine element of your choice. The program should
conforms with the lecture of 15/12/2002 (Program
Development Process). The report must contains the design procedure and
equations, any needed tables or charts, flowchart of the design process, screens
of the program, verification of the program , help and a disk contains the
program. Use Visual BASIC 6.0, (Duration 5 weeks), extended 2 weeks more.
(Final due date: 16/02/2003).
- Assignment #
4:
Each student is allowed for 10 minutes for representation of his submitted CAD
program. Running the program and only 3 transparencies are allowed.
