Zeis is Yuri's fiance. He is calm and caring, quiet and a bit insecure. A bit of a wallflower in personality, it takes this panther a while to warm up to people, and feels nervous in public without a friend or two around. Despite his shy demeanor and quiet attitude, Zeis is fiercely protective of friends and family, in fact almost too much, because of things in his life. Zeis shows interests in the arts, and loves to read anything he gets his hands on.Zeis was born in the jungle village of Chemos, the second son of the leader of its tribe. Unlike other cubs, which were born with yellowish fur and black and brown spots, his fur was a striking pitch-black. This was considered a very useful trait for a hunter, and he was taught the ways of the forest from an early age. Despite his lofty position, he was well-liked and popular as a child.
At the age of twenty he was already a well-respected hunter. It was then that he set his eyes on a Panthern female named Samara. They had been friends since childhood, and their relationship had grown closer over the years into a romantic relationship. He proposed marriage a few months later, and he accepted.
Things seemed perfect for Zeis, until one night she decided to take a walk on her own...

She never returned that night. After several hours passed Zeis grew worried and went to search for her. It was only a short distance away that he found her brutally murdered body. Coincidentally, another Panthern, an older male named Raziel, had stumbled across her body first. Zeis came upon the scene and jumped to the conclusion that he was his lover's murderer. Meanwhile, the real killed, an insane, bloodthirsty vampire with the original alias of 'Vamp', escaped unnoticed.
Zeis' life was ruined. He fell into a deep depression and fled the village, overcome with shame and grief at the death of his beloved. He became utterly terrified of social interaction, and tried at every chance to avoid it. The formerly outgoing Panthern was reduced to a pitiful shell of his former self.
For several years he wandered aimlessly, clashing occasionally with Raziel, while the real murderer continued his rampage...
One night he wandered into an inn called the Golden Lion...and was served by a woman named Yuri Khyrsal. The cheerful Leoform took it upon herself to help Zeis out of his shell, and over several days they spent time together, talking. She found herself attracted to his kind personality, buried under his extreme shyness. A fateful kiss under the mistletoe further cemented their relationship.
Not long after, Raziel reappeared, and met Yuri. He explained that he was not Samara's killer, but before he could tell Zeis in person he became Vamp's next victim, killed before Yuri's eyes.
With his eyes finally opened to the truth, Zeis was forced to confront his fears and defeat Vamp in battle. With this, his life began again, his to share with his beloved Yuri at his side.
