In case you didn't know, RPG
stands for 'role playing game,' meaning you take the role of a character
that you make up, and have him/her interact with other characters in an
imaginary world. It's pretty geeky, but I don't really care. :P
'Interact' is a bit of a boring
word. You can just talk and socialize, or have your character make a few
enemies, if he's an evil type of person. ^_^ Basically, it's like a improvised
play that never really ends, or a novel that's written by many people that
doesn't finish.
There are two ways that you can
RP (roleplay) on Delphi. You can make adventure posts and flex your literary
muscles on the messageboard, and people will join in and post in your adventure.
The other way is to join one of the chatrooms that each forum has, where
you can talk, hang out, or fight with other people's characters in real
time.
I think that just about covers the
basics of the RPG concept, so here's a link to my favorite forum on Delphi.com:
The
Golden Lion Inn and Tavern
The Golden Lion was set up by a
friend of mine, and this is where I got started. I am a co-manager there. It's
a very friendly place with a great peaceful atmosphere. All the info you
need is contained on the main page, with links to rules and info about
the moderators.
Okay, now you're done with this
boring page! Go look at the cool stuff!
