| Your Mother should have about 15-30 fry. One way to take care of the fry is to fill the birthing tank with plants and cover. Another way is to remove the fry and put them into a fry raising tank. I suggest you move them into a seperate tank, to avoid being eaten by their mom. Feeding the fry is a little more difficult. Their favorite food are BBS(baby brine shrimp) which can easily be bought from most pet stores or raised. Raising is very simple and easy. You can find eggs at any tropical fish shop. If you can't get BBS you can also grind flakes finely and feed the fry. I suggest you raise BBS because its so easy and extremly healthy for the fry. Many people say when you feed the fry brine shrimp, you should feed them a little bit of flakes beofre to slow downt heir digestion, because BBS are a form a laxitive. This is the perfect amount of cover for the fry. They must either be separated or have lots of cover because their parents WILL eat them. |
