At this moment there are two ways of showing your interest in this project and/or making a reservation to visit the village for some days. You can e-mail The Mountain Institute in Peru, who at the moment takes care of finding visitors for the village. Their email address is: [email protected]. You can write us in Spanish or English.

If you want more information about the project or book a visit, you can write to [email protected]. I have worked in the village for several months setting up this project. I will voluntarily provide you with all information you want, because I know where this project stands for and that it is a unique opportunity for anyone interested in an intercultural holiday.

Since September 2003 I work in The Mountain Institute of Huaraz, and I am the contact person for anyone wishing to visit Vicos or gain any additional information.

The members of the project also have their own email address, but at the moment they are not yet checking this very often. You should also only write them in Spanish, as they do not speak nor understand English. Their email address is [email protected].

If you want to stay one week in Vicos, but you also want to have two more weeks in Peru exploring it in a different, responsible and rewarding way, please contact [email protected] or take a look at the website of Crooked Trails, www.crookedtrails.com. They offer a very interesting way to spend you three or four weeks holiday in the best way. All important attractions are visited, but not in a bus full of fellow tourists, but in small groups with an eye for interesting details and intercultural learning. About 15% of the amount you pay for your trip is used in the communities we visit for projects you will be partly executing. Experience the real responsible tourism and feel the rewarding thankfulness of the locals. A holiday you will never forget.

Prices

The prices are highly competitive. 30 US dollars per person per day, including the accommodation, all the food and drinks, guiding throughout the day, visits to local artisans, musicians, etc. You will have to pay only for the transportation to and from the community (locals can do this at very competitive prices, please let them handle this) and optional transport within the community during your stay.
