Cadiz Port - Excursion to Seville

This aprox. 8 hour tour visits Seville, the capital of the Andalucia region. Seville is the fourth largest city in Spain, and it is a pleasure to tour because many of the main sites are located near each other and easily reached on foot. You will find many small streets, shaded lanes, hidden plazas and quaint neighborhoods. Your driver will meet you at the pier in Cadiz and you'll enjoy a relaxing trip through the Spanish countryside until you reach Seville. Upon arrival, Antonio Doblas will join you to explain the most important monuments and the lifestyle of the residents. You'll start with a visit to the Alcazar which is the oldest palace in Europe. In the past this was the primary home for Spain's kings. Today, the current king stays here only when visiting Seville. Built with the help of the Moors you'll marvel at the variety of tiles, ornamental arches, carved wooden ceilings as well as the geometric designs in the wonderful gardens.

You'll continue your tour walking through the Santa Cruz Quarter, one of the most picturesque neighborhoods in Seville. It was formerly the Jewish quarter with narrow winding cobbled streets and small plazas surrounded by whitewashed houses with flower boxes and balconies.

Next you'll visit the largest Cathedral in Spain called Santa Maria. It is also the third largest in the christian world. A Gothic cathedral, it was built over hundred and five years time on the site of a former mosque. Inside you will admire a large collection of religious jewellery, paintings and sculptures, as well as the famous tomb of Christopher Columbus. Next you will have the chance to explore the Giralda if you wish. This bell tower was once a portion of a minaret on a former mosque.

Once we finish the tour you will have free time to taste the wonderful sevillian gastronomy or go shopping until the departure of the bus to Cadiz.
