Genjo Sanzo, whose actual name was Kouryuu. He succeeded the title of Sanzo when his former Master, Komyo Sanzo, was killed by a demon. He works with Cho Hakkai, a demon/human, Sha Goyjo, a half-blooded demon, and Son Goku, a heretic. He has a weapon, Shou Re Jyu, which is used for killing demons, and a paper fan, which he uses to hit Goku and Goyjo when they make too much noise in the car. The "corrupt monk", as Goyjo calls him, loves to drink and smoke. However, as he pretends to hate Goku and Goyjo, he actually has a very close friendship with Goku, and is saved by Goku many times. Sanzo has an infernal land Sutra, which is needed for Gyumao's ressuraction, which is why Kougaiji wants to kill Sanzo and his group. Sanzo also has his master's sutra, the Holy Land Sutra. He uses the Infernal Land Sutra to kill demons or "purify them". Genjo Sanzo is a monk who is called good-looking by many people, and has a lot of fans, though I myself am not a fan of Sanzo, I have a friend who says that Sanzo has very nice 'abs.' Though in most of the show, none of them really shows it...
