For this task, the students are to create a website based on Esperanza Rising. Although a student familiar with web design could conceivably complete this assignment on their own, I feel that this assignment is more valuable as a group activity as it emphasizes not only the importance of research, but also of teamwork and organization. Esperanza Surfing!

When people are looking for information, they generally converge upon the same place; the Internet. The World Wide Web has grown from a data exchange for the academic elite, to becoming the center of knowledge for millions of people everyday. It contains pages and pages of data for everything from hitting a curve ball to the proper method of making a firecracker. One thing that the Internet does not have a great deal of information on, however, is the book Esperanza Rising.

 

Your task is to create a website that contains information on, and about, the novel Esperanza Rising. Your website should contains at least ten different web pages that are all linked, and it should contain a wide array of knowledge based on not only Esperanza Rising, but also the time and setting of the book.
