Lest We Forget

Thank you to America's heroes for your sacrifices on behalf of the rest of us!

This page is dedicated to America's heroes. The primary focus, of course, are the combat veterans both living and those who have reported to their final roll call. It honors first responders and others who make our neighborhoods a safer place to live.

The photograph above is of the obelisk/statue that stands on the lawn of the Yates County Courthouse in Penn Yan, New York. The County commissioned and erected the obelisk to honor all those who had given their lives in military service prior its placement on the Courthouse lawn facing Main Street, as well as those who would give their lives in military service for generations to come.

Photographs for use in this section are welcome from visitors. If you wish to submit a photograph, it must be one you have taken and be submitted as a JPEG file. You will retain copyright to the image, so please include all necessary information to give you proper credit. Your contact information will not be posted with the picture. That information will be maintained in a separate file, and any inquiries about the photograph will be forwarded to you for a response.

Human interest stories about an American hero known to you that you would like to share must be factual, submitted with the subject's permission if living, or living next of kin if the person has reported for final roll call. As with photographs, the author will retain the copyright to the story. Contact information will not be posted, and questions about the article will be forwarded to you.

Living heroes - combat veterans, police, firefighters and other first responders - have a special invitation to submit photographs, textual articles, or "video articles" for this page. Please contact us at our email address below for instructions, especially if you need video edited and uploaded, or to provide links to any you have produced and uploaded yourself.
