| ARTICLE I � Name The name of the committee shall be the �Gratiot Collaborative Council�, hereafter referred to as the GCC. ARTICLE II � Mission and Belief Statements The Gratiot Collaborative Council coordinates and creates opportunities that build strengths in our community in order to assist families and individuals in healthy growth, learning, and development. We, the members of the Gratiot Collaborative Council believe: � Working together we can accomplish more than working individually. � Every person has worth and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. � In local decision making. � In assisting families and individuals. � All people can learn. � We are a learning organization. � In ethical behavior. � In taking responsibility for identifying and building community strengths. � In prevention. � In accountability. � All people should be afforded opportunities for personal growth. ARTICLE III � Purpose The GCC coordinates and creates opportunities that build strengths in our community in order to assist families and individuals in healthy growth, learning, and development. The activities of the GCC are intended to promote the following goals: � To make existing human services more effective through interagency support and collaboration. � To review, on a periodic basis, the council membership and community involvement in the activities of the GCC. � To advocate for the continued support and expansion of existing human service programs which have demonstrated successful outcome measures. � To establish new/additional programs based on a needs assessment; a thorough review and analysis of programming alternatives; the sharing of resources; and a community systems approach to programming. � To facilitate change in the contributing risk factors by engaging relevant policy makers, organizations, and the community. |
