Understanding Indigo Children

Imagine a friendly warm fire giving off a golden glow. Imagine some ore of precious gold being heated to melt out the pure gold, so that the pure gold will turn into a liquid and run out of the rocks. The friendly warm golden fire will have to be increased in intensity and heat in order to melt the gold. When the fire is intensified it burns a beautiful indigo blue. This bright blue flame melts the gold and purifies it, causing it to achieve its real value.

Imagine yourself as a child who is sometimes warm and friendly and sometimes very intense. Imagine the frustration of having an advanced brain and special powers but being unable to find anybody who can understand you, help you understand yourself, or help you train your brain and use your powers. Like the gold when it is still in the ore, their true value is unseen by most people and like the bright blue flame their intensity is too hot for them to handle.

Most education systems are not designed to handle the intensity of indigo or recognize the value of gold. Self-preservation of the system causes it to attempt to make Indigolden Children conform. The intensity of the bright blue flame is stifled, by teaching conformity and/or administering mind-altering drugs, so the gold never gets purified. The real value of many of these “genius-brats” will never be realized because they will never get the chance to develop to their full potential.

Imagine how different the world would be if Thomas Edison had been put on Ritalin for his “behavior disorders.” In reality, Tom’s mother pulled him out of school and let him develop his mind at home. With the freedom to learn the things that mattered to him, Tom became one of the greatest inventors the world has ever known. His "un-schooling" is responsible for the electric light, electric power generation, and most of the modern appliances that make our lives comfortable and prosperous. If Tom had been kept in school (where he was regarded as learning disabled) it is doubtful there would even be computers today.
