Orphica's Roots

In this expanded state of being, emerges a desire to share this beauty and to enable others to connect to it and feel it with all their being. And so we dance for all beings, and sing with the wish and intention to fill the hearts of all who listen with this peace, this rapture and this joy.

Orphica's roots lie in the magical personage of Greek myth and legend — Orpheus. He was a mystery-priest. He was a master of astrology, ritual, rites of passage, music, and the magical arts.

In older cultures, Orphic poetry was recited in mystery-rites and purification rituals.

The word "oracular" which means that which is prophetic also leads back to the Orphic arts, and implies the great power within orphic art and creativity to embody Divine Cosmic Truth.

Creative Art is the Soul of Humanity

One of the greatest differences between a human being and an animal is creative art. Only a human feels a craving desire to draw, to write music and verses, compile complicated chess tasks, watch the stars' motions on the sky and foretell fate, build beautiful houses, and stage plays.

Only humans, out of all beings living on Earth, can create art. This desire to create art is the willpower of our soul and it demands perfection. This is the charisma.

Orphic Art is not a laic (ordinary) art. This is a special creative activity devoted to the Divine Power, to self-development, and to helping other people. Each Orphic work of art has a distinct and purposeful aim. A good example of this may be Egyptian pyramids and domes of churches, which attract cosmic energy, ancient legends and sagas, and ancient theater. These works of art have their own magic power and may transform the lives of people completely.

This magic art existed always, from the very beginning. Ancient hunters used to draw beasts and carried out magic rituals, piercing these beasts with their lances. Thus, they used painting to achieve success in hunting. This is an example of simple magic art.

However, Orphic is different from this primitive form. It has high-flown aims and deep understanding of technique and practices. That is why the art is named after one of its outstanding representatives: Orpheus.

Orphic is the highest magic art. Its aim is to help people to understand the holy purpose, to connect man's soul with God through creating of works of holy art.

To create a piece of real objective art it is necessary to be in a state of meditation. It is necessary to be clear. We can prepare ourselves for Orphic creation through prayer, rituals of purification, yoga, and so on, to clear one's temple of all that can obstruct the way of divine creativity to flow through you.
