The history of this Dōjō 道場,
arises with the same name, Gōda 郷田, not only is it the name of a great master Karate - Dō, but it also has a philosophical meaning, Dragon - Tiger, however, Ryu is the word for dragon, and Tora is the word for tiger; That is why this name makes mention of the numbers of these two characters, Gō,
is the number 5 in Japanese and it is the same number that refers to the dragon, and Da, it is in Japanese the one that refers to the number of the tiger than the number 6.
Around the year 2001, at the head of Sensei Adolfo Salgado Rodríguez and in the company of Sensei Edna Marisol Rugeles Niño, Traditional Karate began to be practiced again in the city of Ibagué; a small group of students from the Tolima University and Coruniversitaria clubs join the regular practices.
After a few days the decision is made to create a new Karate - Dō school for the city of Ibagué, and that its main policy would be the study of Traditional Karate - Dō with the guidelines of the International Traditional Karate Federation ITKF.
At that time an important bridge is achieved for the study of Traditional Karate with Sensei Hollman Bedoya Noriega and your organization San Ten Ryu Colombia.
In 2002 Sensei Salgado moved to the city of Barranquilla due to labor issues and the practices of the Gōda Dōjō were suspended.
In 2006, with the return of Sensei Salgado to the city of Ibagué, they seek to rescue the Gōda Dōjō, with a new mission and vision of Karate - Dō, but always keeping the purpose for which it was created.
Alliances and support are also achieved with Traditional Karate trainers from Colombia, such as Sensei Edgar Vargas Ojeda, and Sensei Rodrígo Delgado Rodríguez, who have made important contributions at the level of Traditional Karate at this school.
In addition to the support of organizations such as San Ten Ryu Colombia, headed by Sensei Hollman Bedoya Noriega, the Traditional Karate - Dō Association Colombia ACKT, led by Sensei Rodrigo Delgado Rodríguez and the Shotokan Ryu Kase Ha Association Colombia ASRKH, at the head of the Sensei Marco Alfonso Gómez and the support in Colombia of Sensei Héctor Limas Célis, has allowed the growth of the Traditional Karate of the Traditional Gōda Traditional Karate - Dō Club and the Traditional Karate of the Tolima State.
Thanks to the support of the Traditional Karate - Dō Colombia KTC, and led by Eng. Rodrigo Delgado Rodríguez; Gōda Traditional Karate - Dō Club, has been able to improve their levels of training and practice of Traditional Karate - Dō.
The directors of the Gōda Traditional Karate - Dō Club, express their gratitude for the support and technical advice to the Sensei:
