Kittie Strehle House

This Creole Cottage was built circa 1845 by Claudius Strehle, one of the German immigrants who first settled Mechanickham, later named Gretna, in 1836. He and his wife, Catherina, raised nine children in the cottage's four rooms and garret. The Gretna Historical Society renovated the cottage and furnished it in nineteenth century style.
