GHC AWARDS 2007
The better late than never edition of the 2007 GHC Awards.Wow! November is past half over and I am just getting these out! Silly me! But hey, just in time for GHC's fourth birthday! I can't think of a better way to celebrate than to look at the best of last year.
BEST ADULT FEMALE
FIRST PLACE - Holly Sutton (played by Mandy). Holly returned to Port Charles over the last year. And she came bringing with her a horrible secret. Her daughter Melody longed to know who her father was and Holly wasn't about to let that secret slip. So for the time being, Holly is not telling Melody that her father is Port Charles' beloved Robert Scorpio. How long before her guilt eats her up and the secret comes tumbling out?
SECOND PLACE - Carly Corinthos (played by Lizzy). Carly continues to be on of GHC's favorite characters. This year, Carly continued to help her daughter Chloe deal with her rape. She also reached out to estranged husband Sonny and it looks like reconciliation is on the horizon. She was beginning to feel happy again...which means only one thing...something horrible is about to happen.
THIRD PLACE - Bobbie Spencer (played by Xavion). Bobbie makes the list yet again...keeping hope alive that yes you can be a vet on General Hospital and have a storyline. Her relationship with Frisco continued to heat up and she did all she could to protect her family. Her son Lucas was her greatest concern as faced a variety of health crisis. But now things are looking up for the red headed nurse!

BEST ADULT MALE
FIRST PLACE - Jason Morgan (played by Xavion). Jason climbs to the top this year! With a strong family connection with wife Sam and daughter Heaven, Jason was on top. But he was plunged into a serious health crisis. When he started to experience headaches, Jason was forced to go to the doctor. He discovered he had a tumor and needed an operation. Not wanting to go under the knife, Jason opted for another option limiting his chance to survival and putting on a strain on his relationship with Sam.
SECOND PLACE - Luis Alcazar (played by Mandy). After a year on the backburner Luis is back on the list! He teamed up with Ghost survivor Dawn Sinclair in hopes of finding out what happened to lady love Allyson Meyers. He also ran into the not so dead Kristina Cassadine and together they schemed to ruin Alexis once and for all. Along the way he hoped to make peace with his family - which is very slow coming.
THIRD PLACE - Robert Scorpio (played by Chris). Big Daddy Scorpio is back with a vengeance. He began to feel the presence of an old enemy and soon was proven right when Cesar Faison showed up at his daughter's wedding. After seeing his daughter's heart broken Robert laid chase. A show down proved to be surprising when he was confronted with an awful secret - Colin was his son. He found out only moments before a stunned Colin shot him.

BEST YOUNGER FEMALE
FIRST PLACE - Robin Scorpio (played by Lizzy). Robin really went through the wringer this year and it is easy to see why she is the fan favorite. First she found out that her father was alive, and then right on the heels of that she found out Stone was alive!? Her initial disbelief turned to love for Stone and the two planned to get married. Moments after they were announced as husband and wife, Faison revealed the truth. Stone was really someone else altered to be her long dead love. Naturally, Robin was devastated.
SECOND PLACE - Gia Campbell (played by Mandy). Gia's life was also in shambles this year. Mourning the loss of her baby, Gia began to distance herself from Steven. She got heavily involved in Nikolas' life and paid dearly for it when Connor shot her by mistake. When she awoke she discovered she would probably never have children. This only served to pull Gia and Steven further apart. Is it truly over?
THIRD PLACE - Roz Smythe (played by Mandy). Roz rounds out the younger female category. As the younger sister of Skye Quartrermaine, Roz spent a great deal of this year trying to convince her parents that she was okay and trying to convince herself that she didn't have any feelings for Aries Martin. Roz has a secret...something that has been eating away at her. How long before she will crack and the truth will come tumbling out?

Best Younger Male
FIRST PLACE - Kyan Thomas (played by Xavion). Kyan's life was officially off track after his son Beau was presumed dead. Wade and Elizabeth helped him decide that having a memorial was the best way to go. He was in for a shock though when his not so dead mother returned with son Beau nestled her arms. Seems Dakota would rather the world think she and Beau were dead than allow Kyan to raise Beau.
SECOND PLACE - Nikolas Cassadine (played by Chris). Nikolas was definitely a stand out this year. He was held captive by Mary Bishop while look a like Connor took his place at home. He finally got out with help from old flame Gia. When he returned home he discovered that his wife had slept with Connor thinking it was him. Although he knew it wasn't exactly her fault, the knowledge of what happened drove a rift between them.
THIRD PLACE - Steven Webber (played by Lizzy). Steven continued to be an all around good guy who would do anything for anyone. Like Gia he was heartbroken when his son died. He couldn't stop his relationship with her from falling apart. He wondered if they were done for good. Not helping the situation were the intrusion of Nikolas and the return of his separated parents. He would love to just figure out where his life stands.

BEST TEEN FEMALE
FIRST PLACE - Melody Sutton (played by Kriss). Meet Melody Sutton - the teen that took GHC by storm (you don't believe me, just count her accolades). She came to Port Charles with her mother after living most of her life in hotels all around the world. She recently began to ask her mother about her father and was stung by her mother's statement that she and her father were only a one night stand. She doesn't know the truth...that her father is the one and only Robert Scorpio.
SECOND PLACE - Jenna Drake (played by Lizzy). Meet another one of the strong new characters on the teen scene. Jenna is the daughter of Noah Drake and came to Port Charles to shock her dad and half brother, Patrick. She is a very lovely young lady and has developed a friendship with Colin Scorpio. She refuses to let him him see the worst himself. She is also campaigning for an united family, hoping her brother and father will get along.
THIRD PLACE - Lulu Spencer (played by Vix). Lulu continued to struggle with finding her place in the new Spencer family. The controversy surrounding the conception of her brother Lance dominated the family dynamics often leaving her feeling like she was standing on the outside looking in. She began to lean more on boyfriend Dillon, feeling that he was her family.

BEST TEEN MALE
FIRST PLACE - Colin Scorpio (played by Mandy). Colin is a troubled young man. He was raised by a woman he believed was his aunt. All his life he was told stories by his 'uncle' about the man who killed his father. That man is named Robert Scorpio. He came to Port Charles to get his revenge and along the way met Serena and Jenna. They helped him become a little less focused on revenge but in the end, Colin chose to take his revenge, only to learn he was a pawn in a horrible game.
SECOND PLACE - Lucas Jones (played by Bobby). Lucas' life continued to have its ups and downs. He and Guy settled into a life of dating, sharing romantic moments. He was happy that his mother was moving on even if it was with his uncle. But his health continued to be an issue as Lucas faced one health crisis after another. Friends and family wondered just how much more he could take. Hopefully this year will prove better for this survivor.
THIRD PLACE - Diego Alcazar (played by Lizzy). Diego proved what a loyal soul he really is. And what a patient soul as well. He continued to stand by while Penny worked out exactly what she felt for him. However, he was not going to stand by and let Zane Fox take advantage of her. He decided to whatever he could to get her free of the deal she made with him, even if it meant turning to his mobster dad for help!

BEST ORIGINAL FEMALE
FIRST PLACE - Roz Smythe (played by Mandy). Roz's dual role as the young ER doctor who always tries her best and the tortured young woman trying to hide the truth caught reader's attention. Just what Roz is hiding is anyone's guess. She hasn't even attempted to tell Aries Martin yet, despite growing closer to him by the second. When the truth comes out, lives will be changed!
SECOND PLACE - Marisol Vargos (played by Mandy). Marisol's life is dramatically changing. Her daughter gave birth to her first grandchild, just weeks after she found out that she herself is pregnant again. The child's father is Devin Ross, and this knowledge led to her rocky marriage to Carlos to fully crumble. Right now it looks as divorce is imminent. Now she has to figure out what to do about her left over feelings for Devin, the man who has returned to the side of his girlfriend Skye.
THIRD PLACE - Melody Sutton (played by Kriss). Melody was introduced half way through the year and managed to make such an impression that she landed on this list. Her bubbly personality and her friendship with Christine is a nice welcome after some of the game's darker stories. But she still has her own angst - mainly dealing with her need to know who her father is!

BEST ORIGINAL MALE
FIRST PLACE - Caleb Turner (played by Mandy). Caleb is trying his damnest to leave behind his con artist past and embrace his role as the latest Quartermaine bastard. However, it isn't always possible when you are forced into a marriage against your will. Married to manipulative Tia, Caleb is struggling to do the right thing - he wants to be there for his unborn child yet he needs to get far away from the woman who is carrying it.
SECOND PLACE - Lance "Talon" Spencer (played by Chris). Talon has had quite a year. For the most part he was missing from Port Charles, having suffered memory loss on the day of wedding to Sage. Serena had taken advantage and convinced him that they were married. But when his memory loss was just a symptom of something worse, Serena confessed what she had done to Sage. After surgery, Sage broke things off for good, no longer able to go through the ups and downs with him. Devastated, Talon through himself into his work.
THIRD PLACE - Javier Vargos (played by Mandy). Javier is very different from his father. He revealed this to Keesha when he confessed to killing a man (V's fiance Simon Prentiss) He was felt horrible and vowed not to delve into the world of his father. He also had to make the difficult decision of who he really was in love with - Keesha Ward or Dorian Vega. Finally he knew his heart belonged to Keesha, who was pregnant and had not told him yet.

BEST NEWCOMMER
FIRST PLACE - Zoey Winchester (played by Mandy). Zoey started out as your typical hooker with a heart of gold. She first came on the canvas as the woman hired by Shane to make Emily jealous. When proposed marriage for real, Zoey got scared and bolted, believing that all she would ever be was a hooker. She then became the confidant of Todd Manning, who hired her to be his secretary at the Sun. She is now shedding her former image and trying her hand a real life.
SECOND PLACE - Melody Sutton (played by Kriss). Melody makes the list again proving that Kriss has done an excellent job in crafting an original and memorable character. Melody has also entered a very active teen scene, meeting her new best friend Christine within a day of arriving. She has also met Michael Corinthos, and understands why Christine has said that everyone has a crush on him!
THIRD PLACE - Vaughn Hamilton (played by Xavion). Vaughn's first appearance shocked many...after all he was a dead ringer for rapist and all around nasty piece of work Vincent Caine. Vaughn revealed that they were twins and that he was in town to find out what happened to his brother. He has proven that he is a much nicer fellow than his brother and is making a life for himself in Port Charles.

BEST VILLAIN
FIRST PLACE - Cesar Faison (played by Mandy). Faison easily wins top honors in this category...if only for sheer number of evil deeds pulled off in one year. When Robert resurfaced Faison was not far behin him playing dead for a time. But as the members of the Scorpio family began to sense his presence he upped his game - first by planting a fake Stone in Robin's path and then setting up Robert to be shot by his own son. His last act before disappearing was to unleash a virus that would ravage Port Charles.
SECOND PLACE - The Ghost (played by Chris). Just who is the Ghost? That is the mystery many are trying to figure out. But there is no mystery in how ruthless this man is. He single handedly kidnapped Marisol Vargos, Dawn Sinclair and Allyson Meyers. Only Marisol and Dawn managed to escape. Allyson was sold into slavery to punish Dawn for escaping. The Ghost has yet to take revenge on Marisol. One can only hope that he is found and taken care of before that happens.
THIRD PLACE - Dakota Miller (played by Chris). Dakota's introduction did not hint to the kinds of things she would later do. She came to Port Charles as the high spirited sister of Dr. Tom Miller. She met and slept with Kyan Thomas. When she discovered he was gay, she snapped, refusing to allow him near their child. She even went as far as to fake her and baby Beau's death. She was later found out but has not stopped her desire to keep Kyan away from Beau.

BEST RIVALRY
FIRST PLACE - Cesar Faison vs. the Scorpios (played by Mandy and Chris, Missy, and Lizzy). The Scorpios came together as a family this year working hard to make sure that Faison could do them no harm. Unfortunately they did not see the diabolical plan that he had put in place for them. And in the end nearly all the Scorpios were either hurt directly or indirectly by Faison's actions.
SECOND PLACE - Kyan Thomas vs. Dakota Miller (played by Xavion and Chris). These two former lovers and now co-parents are on definite opposite sides of the fence. She has made it her life mission to ruin his. First she pretended she and their son was dead and when that was discovered she had the gull to spew hate filled speech towards him and his boyfriend. Even her time in jail didn't help
THIRD PLACE - Serena Baldwin vs. Sage Alcazar (played by Chris and Mandy). Was this the year that this rivalry finally reached it's climax? After Serena convinced an amnesiac Talon that they were married, she began to feel the guilt of her actions. When Talon fell sick she decided to do the right thing and call in Sage. However, Sage wasn't grateful. Instead she was furious that Serena had ruined her life. A fight in the stairwell ended with Sage pushing Serena down the stairs, putting her in a coma. Is this finally the end?

BEST FRIENDSHIP
FIRST PLACE - Diego Alcazar & Penny Mitchell (played by Lizzy and Mandy). Diego and Penny's friendship continued to strengthen over the last year. It was clear that Diego was in love with Penny but he refused to push her. She didn't want to ruin a good friendship so she continued to look at him as a friend. But as her life began to spiral out of control courtesy of Zane Fox, she began to lean on him more and more...
SECOND PLACE - Melody Sutton & Christine Collins (played by Chris and Mandy). These two are the embodiment of teenage friendship, sharing clothes, gossip, and crushes. The pair met on Melody's first day of school in Port Charles and have spent just about every waking moment together since. Christine is definitely more out going than Melody but she is showing Melody that she could stand out in the crowd.
THIRD PLACE - Kyan Thomas & Elizabeth Webber (played by Xavion and Elyse) Kyan really needed Elizabeth when he assumed his son Beau was dead. Not knowing what to do, Kyan turned to her. She helped him decide to have a memorial service. When Beau turned up alive in the arms of his mother, Elizabeth again helped Kyan deal with the overload of emotions he was feeling.

BEST COUPLE
FIRST PLACE - Jason & Sam Morgan (played by Xavion and Mandy). This couple has been moving their way up over the past few years and have finally landed at number one. This year they faced their first real crisis as married couple. It all steamed from Jason's poor health. Sam wanted him to have surgery and Jason didn't want to try that option even if it meant dying.
SECOND PLACE - Diego Alcazar & Penny Mitchell (played by Lizzy and Mandy). Readers continued to root for the slow march toward love by Diego and Penny. The fact that they started as friends and slowly developed feelings for one another is rarity in soap couples. By the time of voting cutoff they hadn't officially gotten together yet but readers knew they were heading that way.
THIRD PLACE - Devin Ross & Marisol Vargos (played by Xavion and Mandy) Last year's number one couple falls to number three this year but still...considering they aren't really a couple that is quite a feat. Marisol and Devin's one night stand translated into a pregnancy. With him back with Skye and Marisol on the outs with husband Carlos, the future of this child is pretty much up in the air.

BEST LOVE TRIANGLE
FIRST PLACE - Skye Quartermaine/Devin Ross/Marisol Vargos (played by Lizzy, Xavion and Mandy). For the past few years Devin has been on the top of the Best Couple list either paired with Skye or Marisol. So it's only natural that their triangle top the list. Devin has been truly torn between the two women. Skye is the one Devin seems to truly care about but at the same time he is attracted to.
SECOND PLACE - Serena Baldwin/Lance "Talon" Spencer/Sage Alcazar (played by Chris and Mandy). This triangle may have finally met its end this year when Serena was forced to call Sage when Talon fell ill. Her terrible deeds were discovered, but it was too late in Sage's mind and she broke it off with Talon. With Serena in a coma and Sage and Talon broken up, this triangle came to a conclusion.
THIRD PLACE - Carlos Vargos/Marisol Vargos/Devin Ross (played by Chris, Mandy and Xavion). Some readers opted to view the Marisol-Devin connection as a triangle between he, her and her husband Carlos. Although they had not been close in some time there is still a connection between Carlos and Marisol. And Devin is the man who had come between them not once but twice.

BEST WRITING CHEMISTRY
FIRST PLACE - Mandy and Chris. These two continuously scheme on MSN. They have created many stories via instant message and enjoy concocting new and exciting stories. Currently they are working hard to bring the reality of relationship strained in Talon and Sage as well as temptation in former flames Nikolas and Gia. They hope to bring many new stories down the road!
SECOND PLACE - Xavion and Mandy. Xavion and Mandy have created some of the games more dramatic moments - from Devin and Marisol's push and pull relationship to Luis and Kristina's twisted plans to Jason and Sam's struggle to come to terms with his life threatening illness. They promise as many good storylines in the year to come and they hope you enjoy them.
THIRD PLACE - Bobby and Chris. Bobby and Chris continue to make readers happy with their signature couple of Lucas and Guy. This year the couple suffered more than they were happy because of Lucas' ongoing health issues. But things are finally looking up for them...of course happiness is always a sign that something is about to happen in the soap world. Who knows what will happen next?

BEST DRAMATIC MOMENT
FIRST PLACE - The climax of Robin and Stone's wedding. It was supposed to be the happiest day of their lives. After being ripped apart by death, Robin and Stone were finally getting married. They were in the middle of their first dance as husband and wife when an uninvited guest showed up - Cesar Faison. He explained that Stone was not Stone at all but just a replica created by plastic surgery and the mind control technique he and Helena had perfected on likes of Lucky Spencer and Zander Smith.
SECOND PLACE - Faison unleashes the virus. Faison came to Port Charles with the sole purpose of destroying the Scorpio family once and for all. He had a plan for every Scorpio - and most them were designed to hit them where it hurt. After burying Dorian alive, he turned his attentions to Robin, and finally Robert. He lured Robert into a confrontation and then set him up to be shot by his own son! His last act of evilness was to inject Colin with a highly contagious virus that would ravage the city and become the story of the summer.
THIRD PLACE - Talon and Sage breakup. When Talon disappeared on their wedding day, Sage was devastated but after weeks of not hearing anything she decided to move on with her life. She didn't know that Talon was in Pine Valley with Serena who had convinced him that they were really married. When Talon's illness grew worse and he needed surgery to survive, Serena's guilt led her to call Sage who rushed to Talon's bedside. She nursed him back to health but then dealt him with a devastating blow. She was breaking up with him - all the manipulations from Helena and Serena had been too much. She couldn't put her heart on the line again. Talon was hurt but didn't push her.

BEST ROMANTIC MOMENT
FIRST PLACE - Diego and Penny slowly fall in love. The pair met when Diego found her mugged behind Kelly's. The pair have been friends ever since. Underneath it all there has been an obvious undercurrent of something more. Diego admitted it first - telling Penny he loved her. Penny was afraid and didn't reciprocate. But it was obvious that she felt the same way too and readers waited for her to say the words back.
SECOND PLACE - Zander and Fancy fight a losing battle against their attraction. Fancy comes with tons of baggage, most of related to the mob. As the sister of Sage Alcazar, Fancy has had her share of close shaves - including run ins with the mysterious Ghost. She met Zander, who was trying to stay on the straight and narrow for the sake of his son. He didn't need a woman like Fancy. But he couldn't exactly deny the growing heat between the two of them - no matter how hard he tried.
THIRD PLACE - Steven and Gia's relationship falls apart. So it's not romantic in the traditional sense but readers were pulled in by Steven and Gia's downward spiral brought on by the loss of baby Noah. She was devastated and began to push him away. It didn't help that she turned to Nikolas, something that Steven didn't look too kindly upon. Fights just helped the space grow and Steven and Gia wandered what was going to happen - although neither would admit it.
Other initial nominees: Aries and Roz take it slow, Julian and Anita play a game of cat and mouse.
BEST OVERALL STORYLINE
FIRST PLACE - The truth about Stone - When Stone suddenly showed up alive, many were baffled. Robin had been there when Stone died from complications due to AIDS. Stone told her a different story. His death had been faked and he had been held prisoner. After some convincing Robin finally reunited with her love and the pair planned to get married. On their wedding day, after they were pronounced husband and wife, the truth was revealed by Cesar Faison. He had found himself a man in need and had paid to have him turned into Stone - memories and all. Robin was devastated realizing that her first love was dead after all and now she was married to a complete stranger.
SECOND PLACE - The Scorpios unite to fight Faison. Robert had not even been back for a month when signs of an old enemy begun popping up. It was obvious that Faison was out to get them and the Scorpios had no choice but to unite to try and figure it out. Brothers Robert and Mac finally started to act more like family to protect what was theirs. But in the end they were no match for the diabolical scheme Faison had put in place.
THIRD PLACE - The Connor/Nikolas swap takes its toll. Nikolas was finally freed and returned to wife Emily and daughter Lila. But the damage was done - Emily had slept with Connor believing he was Nikolas. Although Nikolas knew it wasn't rational, he blamed Emily and was furious that she then turned around stuck up for Connor. The pair attempted to fix their marriage but in the end, it was too much and it was obvious that Nikolas and Emily's marriage was probably over for good.
Other initial nominees: Tia fakes a pregnancy to hold onto to Caleb, Serena reunites Sage and Talon but Sage later breaks it off with Talon
