The People's
Republic of Zīrkę has a varied landscape.
Lowlands and water in the coastal region and the
Midlands, as well as hills and mountans in the
east and in the Mīrson Republic. In the Low- and
Midlands the most common agricultural use of the
land is wheat, other grains, vegetables or cattle
for dairy production. Pork is rarely eaten in
Zīrkęnian cuisine, most people don't like it.
However, pork is available in most of the
restaurants, especialy in Komsomol.
The hills of the
Mīrson Republic are used for sheep, and that's
where Zīrkęnian cuisine is famous for
throughout Scandia. The large sheep companies
make a lot of money, good for 65% of the GNP of
Mīrson Republic. However, sheep are still herded
in the traditional way, with a shepard in the
mountains. The Zīrkęnian people are very fond
of sheep. Sheep is the most common eaten meat in
the RPZ. There are also many restaurants which
serve the finest quality dishes with sheep. Other
than that, sheep are also kept by people for a
hobby, and you will also find sheep in the city
parks of Komsomol and other cities.
The current
Secretary of Agriculture & Fishing is dr.
Kārl von Hźēęnün. Over the last decade a lot
has changed. The new agricultural policy is
focused on a good position of Zīrkęnian farmers
and agricultural industries not only on the
national market but also abroad. Other important
points are management of the landscape and
guaranteeing quality. The ministry also aims at
improving the infrastructure in rural area's.
Recently opened is the new Pīrīēbūrg - Blźt
railway, exclusive for freight trains carrying
agricultural products from the Mīrson Republic
to the port city of Blźt. Another example is the
new railway terminal in Komsomol, used for the
transito of grain and sugar.
Foreign countries
interested in Zīrkęnian agricultural products
should contact the Ministry
of Trade.
