GCSCA is a non-profit organization, created to initiate horsemanship education and promote horse events in the area.  Membership consists of various approved saddle clubs in the Goodhue County area.  Currently this includes 4 clubs!   Members of each club are encouraged to compete in the clubs hosting GCSCA horse shows!   The points from these 5 shows are combined to provide year end awards & year end High Point Awards for contestants.   All GCSCA horse shows are WSCA qualifying shows.  New in 2009, we are implementing a Trail Riding Program to promote trail riding within our organization.

The association is very family friendly and great friendships have been built throughout the years!
Country Care Program
If you are purchasing items from Country Supply (www.horse.com) don't forget that they will donate 5% of your purchase to GCSCA if you enter the CARE CODE on your order.

  Our Care Code is "Goodhue".

GCSCA  2009 Annual Exhibitor Number Program

What is it?
For 2009, GCSCA has again approved the use of a competition number program.  Each horse/rider team purchases a  number to be used at every GCSCA horse show in 2009.  The 2009 numbers will begin with the number 3001.

Are there any changes in the program for 2009?
Yes we made some changes to the Exhibitor Program for 2009 - please review all rules listed here.

Do I have to have an Exhibitor  number?
If you would like to compete for GCSCA Year End Awards you are required to have a GCSCA Exhibitor Number. Only those points received with a permanent number on the entry card will count towards year end.  If you purchase a permanent number but don't use the number at a show, those points will not count towards year end.

I bought a number in 2008, can I use that number in 2009?
No.   You will need to purchase new numbers for 2009 if you are competing for 2009 year end awards.  The numbers for 2009 will be a 3000 number (versus a 2000 number in 2008)

Is there a charge for my number?
Yes, the cost is $1.00 per set of numbers.   You will receive TWO copies of each waterproof, tyvek number (a spare, in case the first is lost )

Do I need more than one number?
You will need a separate number for each horse/rider combination.  For example, if you have 2 horses and 1 rider...you would need 2 numbers.  If you have 2 riders and 1 horse...you would need 2 numbers.

Do I have to purchase my number before show season begins?
YES!   If you are going to compete for year end GCSCA awards you must purchase an Exhibitor Number PRIOR to June 1, 2009
Unfortunately this rule had to be instated as we had numerous members who didn't purchase their numbers until they were 1/2 way through the show year, which caused many hours of rework to be done for year end points.

How do I get my number?

The GCSCA delegate for your local club will have the numbers available for sale.  Attend a meeting for your club to purchase the numbers or contact your GCSCA delegate directly.  They will also be for sale at the GCSCA book assembly in Mid-March.

When will they be available for sale?
They will be available at the same time as the Goodhue County Books - approximately mid-March.  Purchase early to get the number you want!
Remember that you must purchase your number prior to June 1, 2009.

What will I need to purchase my Exhibitor Number?
To make it easier for our GCSCA Exhibitors and Entry Stand volunteers, we have expanded the Exhibitor Number Program.  When you purchase your 2009 Exhibitor Number you will need to sign the new GCSCA liability form and provide us with a copy of the horses 2009 Coggins.  By doing this, you will NOT have to sign liability forms or provide Coggins info at the GCSCA shows for any horse that has a GCSCA Exhibitor Number.  Horses without Exhibitor Numbers will still need Coggins info at the shows. Click
HERE for the liability form.

Can I make copies of my number?
Yes!  When a number is purchased we will provide you with 2 copies of the number.  But you are more than welcome to make as many copies of that same number as you'd like!  Have a copy for every outfit if you'd like!    Feel free to laminate the copies if you'd like.

What should I do if I purchase a new horse during the 2009 show season?

If you would like to compete for year-end GCSCA Awards, immediately contact your GCSCA delegate to purchase a number for the new horse/rider combination.
