I think that the science, like everything else is a hostage of the market. It's very impressive to see how many scientists, institutions, white collars, universities, students, labs are involved in researche to invent or discover something. It's all right with some competition in the science, but it is exagerately high the mount of money spent in tech equipement, payroll and consume thrown in these purposes, thinking that many of them are able of nothing. And we have them everywhere in our life. Too much research, or too much abuse with its good purposes. After this we have medicines that have too unknown or undeclared collateral damages, saving life medicines that wait the right market opportunity to be revealed and with very high prices, high tech products get used largerly in war and when obsolete in peace. Too much money in space research, for a very remote and very unclear and very unsure usefulness, in front of huge needs of tech to save or improve lifes in disastrated areas of the planet or environmental preservation. The introduction of the very high tech in medicine, instead of improving health standard, has created an abyss between the physician and the patient, almost unthinkable two decades ago, bringing a general concern about physicians' job quality and fairness, in front of high fees. Or large consume tech with incomprehensive versatilities and misused advantages as pc, mobiles and tv sets, with bad social effects we all know very well.. |
