After 10 months effort, I've finally published my first shareware - RMIAdmin v1.2

How many nights I've been working on this project, and at last I've completed the software in the stage which I believe is the moment to launch it for production, hurray!

The exact launch date of it should be 23-Oct-2005 22:00 HKT

My confidence has really dropped a little bit when the software is released, since I am afraid if the market response is poor. Anyway, my intension to create inspired software will never cease, at the time when this message is posted, the next & next version of RMIAdmin has already been justified.

Recently I've been promoted by my company, and my title now changed to Senior Desktop Support Officer, but to be frank, my work doesn't really changed much, except for a tiny change in salary and benefit.

3 years after my previous promotion, it has been a long time. Though it has been a hard time waiting, I haven't wasted any time even for a second, in fact I learnt a great deal in dealing with large scale Software Development Process Management by observing other people's work, moreover I did paid a lot of effort to improve my programming ability as well as the skills of communication and documentation.

My time in HSBC flew away as a blink of eye, while my experience and interest in computing significantly changed from network and technical support to an in-house software developer, with a mission of creating software ranging from:
  • System Software
  • Real-time software
  • Business software
  • Embedded software
  • Personal computer software
  • Web based software
  • Artificial intelligence software
  • Security software

I'm always thankful for what HSBC has offered me not just the reward or remuneration, but indeed the environment that offer me the chance elevating to a different level in computer science.

It's great time for as recently I've developed my first official mobile applications for using
JAVA J2ME technology

It is really wonderful when my working colleagues successfully deployed the application to various mobile phones, such as Nokia, O2, Motorola, Sony Ericsson...

Actually the outcome is much greater than I've expected, cause most of the time I am writing the application using the J2ME Wireless Toolkit offered from Sun's Official Website, this mean that in fact I could only get the runtime result from the emulator.

Therefore when it finally came to reality to be running on those mobile devices, I can't explain how happy I was at the moment!

Currently, I am working of a little Visual Basic programming on the management of AD - Active Directory (on Windows 2003 Server) , this is a new challenge for me as I need to develop various methodolgy to implement the integration between Visual Basic and JAVA.

I am quite happy to get involved from this project cause the idea itself could induce others more brilliant ideas, such as the extension of our current applications to support the interfacing with MS Active Directory.

The key benefits of developing a management & reporting tools for AD are described as below:
  • License free - as we're not purchasing any additional software.
  • Flexibility - with the use of ADSI - Active Directory Service Interface , we could query everything we want in AD.
  • Extensibility - Integration with other programming languages, and therefore allow us to create more powerful applications.

I just came back from a 5 days (Feb/23 - Feb/28) trip to Tokyo. It was really a fantastic journey!

Place I've been visited such as Ikebukuro (池袋), Shinjuku (新宿), Harajuku (原宿), Shibuya (渉谷), Dai-Kan Yama (代宮山) and Karokuen (後樂園).

This is the third time I've been to Tokyo, previously I went to Japan by joining the travlling services agency. So this is actually my first time been to Tokyo by my own, which is indeed not really so difficult as one may imagined.

So please visit this LINK   if you want to find out more about my wonderful trip.

I am eager for the visit to Japan again, perhaps Hokoido (北海道) next time on Winter.

I really like taking photos of myself, before I am too old... but I am too old already and I am getting older anyway, Shit!
