Here comes the latest feature on Gallon of Magnet - The Fans Forum! There are currently a number of Forums where Blades fans chat, but despite that we fealt it was time for GOM to do what all popular unofficial football sites do - introduce our own. Sheffield United have made their fourth signing of the summer
by capturing Crystal Palace's Mikele Leigertwood. The versatile
defensive player has signed after failing to agree a new
contract at Selhurst Park.

Despite being out of contract with Palace, Leigertwood will still
cost United �600,000 due to him being under the age of 24. The
fee was agreed between the two clubs as compensation. The 23-
year-old has signed a 3 year contract at Bramall Lane and has, in
previous seasons with Palace, played as a holding midfielder,
a centre-half or full back.

Leigertwood said: "It's a big step moving away from my family in London but I'm pretty sure I can adapt to it. I'm really looking forward to starting pre-season training.

"I was lucky enough to play top-flight football with Palace a couple of seasons ago, when I made about 20 first team appearances. Hopefully I can bring that experience to United this season."

Meanwhile, Blades midfielder Garry Flitcroft has hung up his boots at the age of 34. The battling midfielder started his career with Manchester City before a �3.5 million move to Blackburn in 1996. He was signed towards the end of last season but failed to impress, and it was expected that he would feature more in the Premiership. However, due to injury, his career now comes to an end.
