ALL MY EX'S LIVE IN TORONTO
EPISODE 7: ALL MY EX'S LIVE IN TORONTO - "Hank and Oscar try to protect Lacey from her ex-fianc while the Dog River police track down a fugitive."

This episode features Peter Oldring as Lacey's fianc.

OVERALL IMPRESSIONS: This isn't anywhere close to the funniest episode of the first season, but some of the moments in it rank right up there with the funniest ones of the year, especially the two I mention in the "funniest scene" category.

MEMORABLE MOMENT: When Brent tells Wanda that Hank kissed Lacey, Wanda (who was largely responsible for Hank's scheme to begin with) says, in a sarcastic tone of voice, "People always get hurt. Damn it, why didn't I stop it?" Fans of the series "Cheers" will recognize this as highly reminiscent of some of the things Carla used to pull in the bar.

MEMORABLE LINE: Easily the most memorable was when Lacey says to Hank "You are so close to getting a knee in the balls."

FUNNIEST SCENE IN THIS EPISODE: When a mega-serious and highly alarmed Davis says "Let's roll," he and Karen race to their squad car, and they drive about sixty feet to the coffee shop. This one made me laugh so hard my stomach hurt. Honorable mention: when Hank interprets Lacey's "No ridiculous schemes!" to mean "Hank, do whatever you can to help me."

BLOOPERS:

1.) During the scene in the gas station when the idea of Brent posing as Lacey's boyfriend is originally discussed, Wanda is doing inventory. At the beginning of the scene (3:10), Wanda is holding a plastic pen with a white barrel and a black cap. The black cap is visible throughout the scene until 4:47 (immediately after Brent's imaginary hot dog lunch with Lacey ends), at which point it's now blue. It changes back to black at 5:10.
2.) When Lacey sits down next to Brent to talk about her breakup with Steven, she's sitting closer to Brent in the shots that show them facing the camera than she is when the shot shows them from their right. The most obvious example of this starts at 9:39, when Brent answer's her "Really, though, do you think there's something wrong with me?". Watch Lacey's left arm and Brent's right arm right up to the point where Brent says "Always listen to your gut." At that point, the camera angle changes, and their arms are no longer touching or even close to it.
3.) At 11:43, just after Brent imagines "sharing" a hot dog with Steven, he orders two chili cheese dogs. At that point, look at the hair over Lacey's left (viewer's right) shoulder. At 11:45, even though she hasn't moved, there's more hair over that shoulder than there just was. This one isn't easy to see in real time, but is pretty obvious in slow motion.
4.) Another series of hair bloopers begins at 14:26, just after the imaginary appearance of the community outreach volunteer. Lacey goes from having some hair resting on her right shoulder to having one small strand run along the top of it to a lot of hair hanging over the front of it (14:30).
5.) Yet another hair blooper comes immediately after Steven is taken out of The Ruby. Look at Lacey's hair over her right (viewer's left) shoulder just before and after Brent says "He has to go to the doctor?"
6.) When Wanda says "Hank's not exactly lying" at 16:57 and then Hank says to Wanda "That's the nicest thing you've ever said about me" (17:02), look at her left (viewer's right) arm in both shots, and then again at 17:04 after Lacey says "Brent?" Not even Bruce Lee could have shifted his body weight that fast.
7.) When Lacey says goodbye to Steven and the camera shot is at her back, look at her wine glass - it's very close to the center of the table. When the camera shot turns to Lacey, the glass is closer to her than it was a split second ago. When Brent sits down, the glass has returned to its original spot.
8.) Also, when Brent sits down, as the camera angle shows his back, Steven's beer bottle is in front of where Brent's left arm would be if he were sitting. When he sits and the camera angle faces him, the bottle is on the other side of the table, closer to his other arm.

NOTE:

When Brent imagines himself and Lacey sharing a hot dog, it's a good bet that they were actually sharing a tofu dog with veggie chili or something along those lines; Gabrielle is a vegetarian.
