WORLD'S BIGGEST
EPISODE 6: WORLD'S BIGGEST - "Dog River tries to attract tourists with a giant landmark while Oscar struggles to stop a love-struck admirer from ruining his marriage."

OVERALL IMPRESSIONS: One of the funniest episodes in the series; if such a new series has an episode likely to be designated as a "classic," this is the one.

MEMORABLE MOMENT: When Brent tries to convince old lady Jensen that building the world's biggest hoe isn't such a hot idea, Lacey refuses to let him get away with it. Honorable mention: Brent's little game that he likes to play with his dad (in the opening scene of the episode).

MEMORABLE LINE: There is no other choice here; no one who sees this episode will soon forget when Lacey says "Why don't you look Fitzy's grandma in the eye and give her one good reason why this town can't build a great big dirty hoe" to Brent.

KUDOS TO GABRIELLE: Although I thought her performance in "Grad 68" was her best comedic work of the first season, in this episode her performance at the booth in the Ruby was flawless. As soon as Fitzy's grandmother suggests the hoe idea, everything Lacey says is side-splitting and delivered perfectly.

FUNNIEST SCENE IN THIS EPISODE: Many would vote for Lacey's question to Brent (which I described in the "Memorable Quote" section, but to me it was actually when Lacey says "I'm assuming there's not a big demand for rap albums in this town," only to instantly be proven somewhat less than entirely correct. Honorable mentions: when Brent tells Lacey he's okay with her being his "new mommy," and when Emma disposes of a skunk her garden. One incidental bit that got a pretty loud laugh from me: the look on Davis' face immediately after old lady Jensen slaps him.

BLOOPERS:

1.) In the opening scene, Lacey leans over the counter and asks Brent what he's doing. Her right arm is pointed forward, toward Brent. The next two shots of Lacey show her arms crossed on the counter in front of her, and the fourth shows her arms as they were in the first shot.

2.) When Oscar is explaining the aging process to Davis, at the point where Oscar mentions "your own cold grave," Davis looks up at him (3:40). The next shot shows him raising his head up again (3:42), even though it's already up (look at Davis and you'll see that the scene after the 3:42 scene looks like the one that ended at 3:40).

3.) When Lacey goes to the booth to serve coffee to the committee that's deciding what tourist attraction to build, she puts her right hand on the booth behind Brent and keeps it there throughout the entire scene, except for a shot of Brent at 11:29 (when Fitzy's grandmother says "I have a suggestion"), where Lacey has disappeared entirely. Her right arm - and probably the coffeepot in her left arm, too - should be visible, especially if you look at the scenes before and after this one. This blooper becomes even more obvious if your DVD player allows you to zoom and move the on-screen image to the left.

4.) At 15:41, Wanda tells everyone that Hank has a good idea and that someone should circle the calendar, and then raises her beer to take a swig. The scene shifts to Brent for a second and then back to Wanda, who at this point shouldn't have to raise her beer again, but does.
