Fox Genealogy:

BEFORE EMAILING US, READ THE FOLLOWING!!!!

Fox Clan is not a genealogy group! Much of the reasoning behind this has to do with the fact that there are many excellent websites for chasing your Fox ancestry. We will be happy to add a brief paragraph for you on the Make a Fox Connection page with your contact information in hopes of connecting you with a cousin. However for anyone to make any sort of connection you need to include full names and dates when available, there were many many of our ancestors with the same first names ! Here also are some good sources for you to try.

Fox Clan is a proud member of Clans of Ireland, visit and bookmark their website, lots of info there !

Local Names (based in Ireland) - http://www.names.local.ie

A good place to start is the Offaly History and Archaelogical Society Be sure to check out their Irish Midlands Ancestry and read their newsletters online.

Ballykilcline Foxes - http://www.ballykilcline.com/fox.html

Irish genealogy: this site is excellent for tracing ancestors and linking up with other searchers; it also has county-by-county links for your searching, and more -http://mail.mayo-ireland.ie/webx?14@^[email protected]

McLaughlin Clan: This clan site, besides providing information on the clan itself, offers insight into Irish history and culture. The Clan's historian has also been very helpful in advising Fox Clan on history and other matters -http://members.aol.com/lochlan/clanmac.htm

Uasal : this is the organization in Ireland with which Fox Clan and over 75 other clans are registered -the site covers Irish nobility and royalty, interesting historical information, and a wide range of other matters -http://www2.smumn.edu/uasal/welcome.html

Also, each county in Ireland has genealogical listings and genealogical groups. Do a search, for example, for "County Mayo genealogy" or "County Mayo surnames".

I also suggest you do a search for "Irish surnames" and you will be amazed at the wide range of sources available, including ships' records, parish records, etc.
