My aunt Mae was married to the fighter, and heavyweight champiom, Jimmy Braddock. If indeed you have any links to this line I'd love to hear about it. Here lived in NYC for a while and then moved to Guttenberg, NJ. Thanks, Charlie Fox Waldwick, NJ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My fox lines came from Westmeath/Offaly area. My great grandparents were 3rd cousins and both Foxes. Therefore, we have a lot of rich Fox history and have been able to trace our family back to the early 1800's and still continuing the search. The one man name which comes into the family for generations is Hubert Fox and we believe that we are direct decedents of Hubert Fox the 1st.

Patrick Fox (my gr-gr-grandfather), b. 1830, County ? , Ireland, d. 1890 New Brunswick, New Jersey. Married Catharine Fegan /Fagan (b. 1835 in Ireland) on Sept. 1850 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Had several children, but son Michael F. Fox, b. 1862, was my gr-grandfather. Michael also had several children, but my grandfather was John Henry Fox, b. 1898. His son John Henry Fox (b. 1922, d. 1987) was my father. There is a line of John Henrys in the family, which might be a clue. We suspect he is originally from Offaly-Westmeath area. Family story has it that he did not emigrate due to the famine, but because he was wanted by the authorities for taking part in a rising in Mayo - though the the Mayo part might not be accurate. Seeking any information on Patrick or his parents - father might have been named William.

The other three children are Christopher, born 1862, Maria born 1864 and Bridget, born 1868. William emigrated to Australia around 1877. He was a stationmaster in a number of towns in N.S.W.
