Selected from Chapter # 06: The Zeal of Soul
Dedicated to: Ahmed Faraz
LOVE WITHOUT TOUCH
One day, I was sitting alone
Talking to myself like I do
Oh my dear! ‘I said to you’
Our Souls are one; bodies are none
Then you replied, ‘Oh yes my dear’
Love is what remains in the Soul
But when touched the love departs
All that remain is forever dole
Then I said ‘Right you are’
That’s why ‘God’ we can not touch
Because if we do we loose his love
Only an idol remains in our clutch
Which we sell and buy in gold
Because it is in matter’s mold
This we worship and place above
But it remains no more for love
Then you said, ‘Yes, my dear’
That’s why I only come in your dreams
Thus I can love you more than my self
So I said, ‘Don’t touch me! Stay in my dreams’
