It is always interesting in walking in the older parts of town. This picture was taken in S.Benedetto di Folignano, which is about one kilometer from the outskirts of town. Here we find a small cluster of homes which time seems to have forgotten, it is also where I spent the first years of my life. As I child I would play in the piazza. Today my nephews can be found there playing the same games I did. Only time has changed. I stood there and I could let my mind wonder back 46 years and yes, the same games only a different era. |
| With the development of the New Folignano the residents have maintained a tradition that is unique in this town. Trees and flowers are an interrogate part of the decor of the town. Homes after homes we see flowers and trees that adorn the homes. This enhances the character of the town given it a gentle and friendly atmosphere. |

The Folignao Town Hall is one of the first buildings you see at the heart of the town. Mayor and council implement the affairs of the Town in this building, It is also the station of the Municipal Police of the Town . Although the Town is small compared to our standards a thorough system is in place to adhere to the needs of the residents. The building in itself has seen the sufferings of war and peace and stands to its testimony. |

As we leave the center of Town,(which is slightly over 1 kilometer in total), and drive in the outskirts, we realize that the same systematic way of thinking is in place. Although we will still see homes that remind us of a time now in the past we realize that the character of the town is not diminished in any way. New homes are being built with the same pride and decor in mind as that of the Town. For those few of us who would like to spend a few weeks of easy living this is a beautiful place to visit. As we drive towards this gentle town we will meet an abundance of hotels that offers service and comfort beyond our wildest dreams. Time will be on our hands to explore the beauty of this Town. To my surprise I found that a short drive to the main city of Ascoli Piceno is also worth the visit and here it not uncommon to find English speaking merchants to serve us. |
