The pictures in these pages were taken during the month of July 1999. All this would not have been possible without the great help of my brother Alfonso Viviani and my best friend Sergio Cipollini, for gathering all the information needed regarding the history of this town. I have tried my best to write these pages in both English and Italian. The Town of Folignano is the town I was born, therefore it has a special place in my heart. It is also the home of my family, and where they currently still live. In writing these pages I hope I can emphasize the beauty of this area. A beautiful place to visit, a greater place to live in.
The Town of Folignano is situated in the Marche region approximately ten kilometers from the beautiful historical city of Ascoli Piceno. Please enjoy your visit
As we wonder through these pages we will realize the beauty and picturesque countryside that we at times fantasize, yet in the town of Folignano where I have spent part of my youth one can find the peace of mind that we often seek. Living in a Canadian city like Montreal, I had forgotten the meaning of tranquility. Waking up each morning gave a special meaning to the words "being alive". God has certainly protected this town from the rush and stress of our cities. Here we see life as it should be, and for the lucky few who live here, is.

Winding roads along the countrysides seem to be never ending.Homes built along this country roads replace older already existing, homes that were destroyed by time or natural disasters. Laws in this country prohibit construction at random, always to preserve the culture and the history of this area. Farming is still a small part of this area, for not for need but to |
| continue in the traditions of their fathers. The pride of farmlands well cultivated was not a job for some, but a way of life. Today we can still see this as we drive along the countryside. The landscape reflects the history of a culture that the people of this town still today to keep alive. Vineyards well cultivated in the manner of there forefathers. |

| As far as the eye can see one can always admire the same systematic and orderly fashion of working. This above all is the pride of the people of Folignano. If we open our minds to the countryside we can look back into the past of this area. The people are simple but their hearts and pride are great. |

At the end of this memorable trip I found it hard to leave this area knowing that the peaceful days I spent here would forever remain in my mind. For those of us who understand the importance of tranquility we soon realize that this is where life can be enjoyed at it's fullest. | ||
