FLOWERS FROM THE HEART

=====================================================================

To Tânia -

My granddaughter and goddaughter.

What a grace and ingenuousness,
Of this child smiling!
What a magic and kindness
There is possessing in her soul.

The pure breezes that the life
So much needs when being born...
White of mist or of ermine,
I want so, always to see you.

And pure, gentle, a charm!
That only in the flowers is found
As in you, this affection,
That God smiling gave to you.

These your blue eyes,
What a beautiful tenderness that they are!
In them reflects the purity
Of your little soul in bud.

You are gracile, sweet child,
These your blue eyes,
They bring for me hope,
I, as a sun in the West...
You, as a sun in the East!
