Turning lanes are for turning. If you're going straight, don't skate in the right turning lane.

Always skate in the direction of traffic - even if you're on the sidewalk!

Never assume sidewalks are safe.

When skating by parked cars try and leave a metre or so of clearance to avoid the door prize

If you skate with the pedestrians, go their speed.





The grass is your friend.  Practice grass stops.

Always assume the dog, or child on the tricycle, will cut across the trail just as you're trying to pass.  Plot an escape route before trying to pass.

Always stay right except to pass.  All trail users should.
